Beach club add on....help!

hi everyone.. We recently bought 2 contracts and were originally gonna skip the direct and even for go the benefits as they aren't that useful for us but with the option to add on so small we may do it because it's affordable and then we have the options here's my question... We want to add on at the beach club.. I have read conflicting information as to if this is possible and can't get the answer from a guide cause I am located in a Canadian province they can't sell in. Does anyone have any current info as to if we may be able to purchase a small add on at the beach club?

You can do this. If they have points you can add on now if they have none at the moment you can be added to the wait list. The most we ever waited was 3 weeks with our add ons. It was super easy. They matched our use year. It was easier for us to just go direct. We also got last years points. Just phone DVC member services that's what we did and got a new guide. We are from the UK and they fed ex the docs.

Awesome thank you hopefully something is available I'm not sure if they can send documents to us here or not as they wouldn't even tell me if points were even available to purchase on the phone cause they aren't licensed to sell here

Sorry but they only sell to you if you are onsite at on of the sales offices since they are not licensed in your area. So your options are to wait until you are there or else to buy resale. As you discovered, they really can't even speak to you.

We will do the purchase onsite next month I was just surprised they couldn't even tell me if it was an option to add on the beach club specifically

If they can't legally sell then they can't talk because as timeshare sales people talking is selling.

It's also not a given for BCV when you are there. They will have to have the points available in your UY on that day to do a 25 point add on and it actually is questionable that they would sell that day to someone not on the waitlist. There's been a few recent reports but there have also been recent reports of people being told no, so just be prepared for that too. And you can't go on the waitlist because they couldn't send you the paperwork if it filled. But most reports indicate they have stopped waitlists anyway.

What if Disney changes the rules that an owner has to have 100 points direct to qualify for perks. You never know with what they will do next.

Definitely and I feel very likely upcoming! But this far Disney has grandfather in those who had purchased previous to a rules change, to my knowledge anyways, and if they don't we haven't lost much. Our real motivation for purchase is accommodations we are flexible for travel dates as our kids our too small and not in school and we are self employed. With that being said we travel a lot! And we love Disney but I don't see it becoming our only destination but being a family of 5 should we be in the world more than once a year the annual pass discount is substantial and I think we would enjoy the lounges and member events.. But not at 100 points I wouldn't even consider it, for us anyways, we would continue resale!

I would do the add on to have the options going forward as it's almost certain they won't take it away if they change the minimum to qualify for the perks. Hopefully they'll have BCV, if not, you may want to have a backup plan.

Animal kingdom is the back up plan and I think probably the likely outcome! But beach club is our first choice for the add on so fingers crossed!

I recently (about a month ago) did a 25 point add-on at BCV. I had tried adding on about a month before that and was told there were no points and they would not add me to the wait list either. It truly is a luck of the draw with BCV -- hopefully you'll get lucky when you're in town.
