I have a pleasant dilemma. :yay: Do I stay in a two bedroom BC Villa or two rooms at the YC. I was able to reserve 2 garden view rooms at the YC at the military discount, but I may have the opportunity to rent a two bedroom villa at the BC. I’m very familiar with both but cant makeup my mind on which to do. With the military rate the cost between the two is very close so cost doesn’t matter. Please help! :confused3

From what I've seen on here, the villa gives you lots of extra space and a kitchen, but the furnishings aren't as plush as the hotel rooms. Both the villas and the hotels give you access to all the other resort amenities at the BC/YC. Personally, I don't think you can make a bad choice. It's really dependent on what you want for your family.

You can find a lot of great information and super friendly people on the official thread here:

Remember if you rent a DVC villa you don't get daily mousekeeping service, jut a change of towels at 4 days and a full clean at 7 days.

Who will be joining you during the trip? How many adults/kids?

If the price is comparable, I would probably do the villa for the full kitchen, washer/dryer, and jet tub in the master!!

Here is the issue. At BCV there are three different kinds of two bedroom villas.
  • There are 25 dedicated two bedroom villas with two queen beds in the second bedroom. They go quickly at 11 months out to owners who own at BCV and are not available for cash.
  • There is another kind of dedicated (more than 25 of them) that is slightly smaller, so there is one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. These probably go next.
  • Third, the lockoff two bedroom villa which is a combination of a studio and a one bedroom. So the second bedroom has one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa and a kitchenette. Plus it has an exit to the main corridor.

So it depends on how many adults you have staying in the villa, plus the make up of the group, plus if you are purchasing a reservation from a member at 11 months out ("renting points").

Just go with the 2 bedroom villa, you'll get a kitchen & a living area clearly much more space than 2 hotel rooms. JMO :)

If your family is happy with the bed configuration in the villa, go villa! LOVE the kitchen and washer/dryer!!!

We love the Villas, it's great to have the kitchen and laundry in the room. Even if you just do a few breakfasts, snacks and such, it's so convenient!

Well, if you're looking at two hotel rooms or a 2 BR villa, I assume it's really not just you. You're probably traveling with someone.

So the question is - how much do you like your traveling companions?

If you've spent all day at the park with them, would you like to be able to go into a hotel room and close the door, planning to meet up with them at breakfast (and not see them until then)?

Or would you want to hang out in the shared living room?

A 2BR villa is an apartment. Would you want to share an apartment with them for the duration of your trip? Or would you want to go off to the peace and quiet of your own apartment for some of the time?

Sorry forgot to list the participants in this adventure -my DW, 19 yr old DD and her boyfriend (22 together 3 years and our first trip with him and his first trip to the World) for 5 nights. Thank you for the help.

We do eat breakfast in the room (to get to rope drop) and get stuff from the Garden Grocer that's was why I like the villa. The DW loves the idea of laundry in the room. The flip-side since this is our first trip with our DD friend, we like the option for some privacy two bedrooms will provide either two separate rooms or two bedroom villa - thanks Deb and Bill for the information on the different types of villas, did know there were so many configurations that is a concern. We are planning on renting 11 months out.

We don't get the room cleaned while we are there, only clean towels.

What a dilemma to have right! :rotfl2:
