Hello,

We are looking to stay at the BC this April and want to know if the BC and YC 'truly' share the pool. I've heard some people say, it's part of the YC, but the BC can use it. With young children, it the BC the better choice, or is the YC nicer? Which has better access to the pool?

Can you truly walk to Hollywood Studios? I've heard it's pretty far. Is the bus system okay? I've heard the monorail is so much better.

Storm along bay is smack between the resorts. It belongs to both.there are also quiet pools at each resort.Yacht club is quieter then Bc..However, BC doesn't have full balconies on every room...YC does., and yes you can walk to DHS ,depending on pace it takes 15-20 mins.Walking to Epcot5-10 mins depending again on pace and room location...Hope this helps

I have only stayed @ the YC but it seems to be alittle quieter than the beach club. You will love the pool!!!

We stayed at YC in December 06. We booked only a month in advance and this was literally our only choice of hotels.

The YC is VERY spread out. It took us 15 minutes, walking briskly, just to get to our room. For a deluxe, the housekeeping was awful.

The BC is closer to Epcot. We walked from YC to Epcot, it just took a little longer, but once we left the maze of our hotel, it was only about a 10 minute walk. Walking to HS is much longer. You'd be better off taking the little boats. This was convenient and quick.

We liked YC for it's convenience to Epcot and HS, but it would not be our first choice to stay there again. Another thing, with younger kids, we found that we missed a food court area. YC didn't have one and BC's was sorely lacking.

As for the pool, too cold when we went. But I believe that BC and YC can use the same pools.

With young children, we like BC better. The atmosphere is bright and beachy at BC, while the atmosphere is lush and in gold tones at YC. There is a character breakfast at BC, which makes the lobby busier at BC than at YC. There are subtle differences like that between the 2 resorts. Otherwise, they share the same main pool, yes. And as others above have said, they each have their own quiet pool as well. We love the walk to HS, just love it! Reason is that we have young children and double stroller. We can watch the night show at HS (Fantasmic) and then take our time and walk back to our resort! We grab a snack and enjoy the walk while the kids rest/fall asleep in the stroller. To us, that is 100x better than taking a bus back to the resort after a night show and having to wake the kids and unload and fold the stroller.

In general, the bus systems are good. It's nice to not have to worry about driving yourself, parking, trams. The buses drop you off right at the park entrances, or close to them anyway. If you're staying at YC/BC, you can plan a morning in Epcot and then hop on the monorail over to MK.

We are staying at BC in may... and cant wait... from my research you actually take a boat to Disney Studios and can Walk to the international gateway of Epcot and can walk or take a boat to the Boardwalk area... :)

The pool is truely shared... its in the middle sorta of the YC and BC... look at the areal views of the hotels and you can see where it is... we are taking our DD4 and I have heard its great for small children...

We are really looking forward to the WDW vacation and especially staying at BC

The beach club is our personal favorite between the two, more casual but slightly less quiet lobby atmosphere(rooms are quiet though). The pool is shared by both and is right in the middle.Anyway our favorite rooms are on the Epcot side facing the woods near the quiet pool. You can be in Epcot in 10 minutes tops from your room. We prefer to walk to DHS when either we just missed a flagship or they are full. We have always beaten the next boat to the studios when we have missed the first one ~walking briskly but not racing either. I would say if your kids have good legs on them and lots of energy you may find it very nice anyway. It gives the adults a chance to talk. We have been there in 15 minutes before. The YC and BC layouts can be confusing at first but if you know where you are and know where you are going, it isn't that bad. The elevator locations are what confuses some. If you don't need to use it, don't. The stairs are way more convenient in getting to where you want to go. We even found little paths and back doors that have helped us get to our destinations easier. There is a website somewhere that has room locations, views with great info. Parkinfotogo, I think? We prefer driving if we can't take the monorail, walk or boat. Our first experience with the busses wasn't so great but that was years ago.
