how far from the beach is the DVC HH? We stayed a few times at the Fairfield Seawatch in Myrtle Beach and loved it becuse it was right on the beach, but hated it because it was a high rise, so i was thinking about next summer doing DVC HH?

I haven't been there yet (going in August) but have read that the resort is NOT on the beach. There is a shuttle that runs from the beach and beach house there, back to the resort. I think its a mile or so.

The resort itself sits on an island on Broad Creek- a tidal inlet at HH. From your room at the resort itself, you can often observe dolphin, otters, manatee and a wide variety of sea birds. Kayaking is available right from the resort and the adjacent marina offers opportunity for all sorts of other boating activities.

The Beach House is located just over a mile from the resort. It can be easily reached on foot, by bike, by car or by the resort shuttle. There is a nice pool, snack bar, beverage bar as well as an arcade and air-conditioned game room with TV at the Beach House.

If you're not an owner at HH, plan to call daily at 7 months or trade reservations with a HH owner for reservations during the busy summer months- especially if you want a studio, 1BR or GV.

Enjoy!

thanks, we will be driving, so we would be able to bring the bikes, and DH loves to golf, even in the dead of summer, he would be out there. It sounds like a neat place!

The beach club is great, though a little far from the resort. They have shuttles to take you back and forth. The walk is too far!

The beach at HHI is awesome. No jet skis, no planes flying over, beach is very wide (maybe 50 yds), Hard packed and you can ride your bike on it! Very long way to deep water, you can walk out 50 yds or more, and still H20 at your knees!!
Enjoy!

We've stayed at the HH about 10 times....we love it! It is not on the beach.....it's on it's own little island. There is a shuttle that runs from the resort to the beach. It's about 1 mile away...my husband & I have walked it many times....gorgeous scenery! They have a clubhouse with a pool, arcade, and little restaurant right on the pool. HH is our homebase and we really do feel like we are coming home when we go there. Hope you have a wonderful time....we're going down over July 4th.::MinnieMo

Clarabelle, what most thrilled us about HH is how REMOTE it felt. When you approach the resort, your are passing all sorts of shops, resturants, condos -- it's packed with stuff although very beautifully landscaped. But you are really in the heart of "tourist country." Then you cross the little bridge to Disney's property and suddenly you are so private and green and lush -- like the middle of nowhere. That little island is jsut this perfect little oasis. We loved it, and I am trying to figure out points and time so we can go back! The beach being a bit away was not a problem for us because the location of the resort seemed perfect. Enjoy!
