We were at the DVC in Vero last year and they were redoing all the sand on the beach. It was very difficult to get down to the water (dune was very high) but they weren't finished smoothing it out. (It was still turtle egg season and they were on hold) Just wondering if anyone has been lately and is it easy to get down to the water now? (I have a knee issue and I have to be a bit careful)

I was there this February and there was not a ledge like I have read about on the DIS boards. There was nothing to climb. We just walked out by the ocean and plopped down our beach chairs.

There have been recent posts on the Vero Beach thread, that hurricane Irene has once again left a ledge in the last few weeks. It has been reported to be 6 feet high (When we were there last October it was 8 - 9 feet high). The report is that there is a kind of "shoveled" path down to the water. I am sure it is not ideal, but it is the work of Mother Nature and not the fault of Disney.
