Be Thankful for President Bush

Darn right I support killing our enemies! Better than them killing us! And what makes you think I support the war in Iraq? Because I generally support President Bush? That doesn't mean I agree with everything he does. And I don't give a flip if you think I'm a hypocrite. Your opinion of me means less than zero!

So much for that turning the other cheek nonsense, huh? Silly pacifists.

When did I once say you had to live by my convictions. It just my opinion on the matter, you have heard of the definition of the word right.

I am sorry if that offended you, but I would like to add, that I respect yours over your beliefs. That is why there is free will.

Who says Christians have to be pacifists? Maybe you're confusing Jesus with Gandhi?

Just standing by while terrorists kill the defenseless is not helping one's neighbor.

Saxsoon, your post is a perfect example of the oversimplification that the right seems to excel at. No, Dubai isn't the same as the Taliban (although, apparently, Iraq was  ). But Dubai supported the Taliban. One of only a handfull of nations on the planet that recognized them as the legitimate government of Afghanistan. See, there is reason behind not wanting their government (and this was a government owned company) involved in our ports. But rather than ackowledge that, you try to make it some kind of a racial issue...basically projecting onto liberals your own racist tendencies.

As for the "God is a bigot" line...you said it, not me. People like Joe calling themselves "christian" while spewing hatred towards anyone that doesn't believe exactly the same things they do don't do a whole lot to dispel that notion.

And Joe...sorry, but yes, Jesus was a pacifist. Not sure which version of the bible you read that has him behaving like Rambo, but it's not one I've seen. :lmao:

You lost the whole gist of the post! The silly pacifist would be me expecting Christian behavior froom those who put scriptures in their avatars and signatures...Silly me!

Now this is the jist I got from the Liberals complaining about the whole Dubai Port thing. They apparently can't tell that they aren't the same either.

Im sure there are a lot of American companies who are with Dubai companies, but when it's our ports in question, one of the most important, and also our most vulnerable areas in the entire nation, that would cause definite issues, especially since the Dubai gov't. owned company had serious issues about who their allies are.

BUT you also didn't hear liberals trying to start a war with Dubai either, even if they were supporters of the Taliban.

Yes, pacifists are silly.

Do you support making enemies we don't need and never had until we stuck our noses where it doesn't belong?

So these terrorists were our friends before?? Or were they just misunderstood murderers??

Those terrorists weren't even born yet when we started screwing around with the Middle East like it was our plaything. We had no problems with the Arab world prior to 1948. Not since the Jefferson administration, at any rate!

Oh, so it's our fault that there are terrorists in the world.

It's our fault that these particular terrorists have a grudge against this particular country. Without question.

So this group of terrorists only picks on the USA? Or all infidels? Or only Western infidels?

Some grudge.

Depends on which terrorists you mean. If, as I assume, you mean al Qaeda, they primarily have attacked us as a result of our meddling in the Arab-Israeli conflict--a posture which is completely at odds with historical conservatism, not that Bush would understand anything about that. Apparently "My Pet Goat" is the outer edge of his reading level.

AFAIK Rumsfeld was on very good terms with Saddam in the 80ies to use him against Iran and OBL was financed by the USA as well to fight against the Russians in Afghanistan. So the answer to your first question is a definite 'YES'.
Your second questions: The difference between a terrorist and a hero often lies just in failure or success. The Crown considered the Americans struggling for their freedom in the late 18th century as terrorists - or at least their 18th century equivalent. If the war for independence had had another ending, Washington, Revere, etc would have been hanged as terrorists - even though their case was just.
Unfortunately right now a large number of people in the Arab world considers OBL and his cronies as heroes and the Coalition Forces as terrorists. And things like Guantanamo and Abu Graibh (spelling?) don't make it better.

You did not answer my questions?? So why question the President's reading level?

Joe is right lw, it’s not fair to question the President’s reading level like that.

The Whitehouse occasionally releases the President’s reading list, and if you would take the time to check it out you would see that President Bush has moved well beyond ‘My Pet Goat”. Since 2001, he has worked his way through “My Pet Pony”, “My Pet Llama” and “My Pet Aardvark”. I’ve heard that he is eager for the next in the series (“My Pet Tapeworm”) to be released later this year.

You see, it doesn’t matter what you say about the President. Everyone knows the truth. Our president is an intelligent and well-read man who thinks hard about the issues of the day. You can tell this is true by his advanced literary interests – which include: unicorns, competitive bass fishing and anything pertaining to that rascally teenager Jughead.

What question? I answered you as well as a vague question can be answered. If you want to detail what you mean, I'll give it another shot.

I do thank President Bush. All those press conferences provide daily entertainment while I await my Disney trip. If only there weren't all those dead, wounded and maimed... :sad2:
