Hello, can anyone offer any tips or strategies on getting a reservation for Be Our Guest? After 8 long years, I was able to finally plan a short trip to Disney with my daughter. She's 12, and I wanted her to experience the magic before her teen years. One of the "must do's" on her list is dinner at Be our Guest. I'm not even having luck with getting lunch or breakfast reservations (party of 3). We will be staying from May 30th (arrive late, so that night wouldn't work) and leave on Wed the 4th at 6p.m to get the bus to the airport (so no dinner on that night either). I am now learning it's a difficult restaurant to get a reservation, I wish I had known that a month ago when we booked. Any tips or info would be appreciated! Thank you!

Keep an eye on the reservation cancellation thread. I scored a BOG breakfast by keeping an eye on that. Also, check closer to the date you want as people cancel at the last minute.

Lots of people cancel a day or two before to avoid the no show/late cancel fee. Check around the 60 day mark when people make their FP+ reservations and release some dining that might conflict. Check again at the 30 day mark when packages have to be paid in full. If you don't score a res by then, keep checking the week of your trip, esp. 1 and 2 days before you want to eat there. Slots DO free up!

Also, the dining res system seems to like even numbers and not so much odd numbers in a party. Try for a party of 4, as long as you show up for the reservation you will not be dinged $10 for the 4th person.

Persistence. Keep checking online multiple times a day to see if a cancellation comes up. You can continue looking up to the day of if you can't find a reservation in advance. Look for a party of 3 or a party of 4 since parties of 3 are usually seated at a 4 top. The reservation system has a quirk that makes it harder to book an odd number because the system wants to fill all the seats at a table so while a party of 3 will be bypassed, add one person and often there is a better chance to find a table. Everyone needs to be included because of fire code regulations so do not look for a party of 2. If you find a 4, just let the castmember at the podium know there are just 3 of you when you check in and as long as at least one person shows up for the reservation you will not be charged for the "missing" person.

Since you have only a limited number of days be flexible in your time. If you want to meet the Beast or want wine or beer with your meal, you will have to book dinner. If neither of these are important you can also look for a lunch or breakfast reservation. While BOG has a large seating capacity, at dinner not all the rooms or tables are used because they can only seat based on how fast the kitchen can plate meals. Lunch and breakfast are quick service with a more limited menu so there is a faster turnover and more guests can dine.

You can subscribe to the May and June cancellation threads at the top of this sub-forum.

Walking up is a last resort because the week you are going can be busy (Memorial Day weekend, lots of schools are already out).

Just keep checking the website a few times a day. I was able to get a dinner ADR for 4 last April about 2 months before the trip and one for 10 about 6 weeks before our October trip. Both just popped up one day.

Download the app and check throughout the day from now until your trip.

It really only takes a minute to do that. And that's how I've scored 90% of my ADRs.

Try every nite at 8 est

Keep checking, even while on your trip. I was able to adjust my BOG dinner time because something opened up the morning of our ADR. Don't give up!!

Keep checking. Not sure if this would work for you but there is a 10:35am lunch ressie for 4 on 5/4 available right now.

Edit: Oops. I was thinking you were leaving May 4th not June 4th, sorry! :(

Definitely keep checking. We booked a trip just a week out for the end of February and after a couple days of checking we scored BoG lunch. I also got BoG dinner for a friend 2 weeks out for her trip in the fall. People cancel all the time but 30 days out and 5 days out are when people make more cancellations because of Disney's trip/room cancellation policy.

I admit I was confused on the exact dates. However May 4 is a Wed and June 4 is not so I can as going with late April/early May
Oh, true. Hmm..

Well, OP: If your visit is indeed 5/4 not 6/4 then...

I have an 8:35 pre-park open ADR for two on 5/4, and there is currently an 8:25 for 1 available the same day. I don't know if it will still be available when you see this, but if you're interested let me know and I'll coordinate to drop it for you. I tried to change my ADR to 3 to save it for you but it said nothing was available.

You'll probably have to call to book the 8:25 for 1 after getting the 8:35 for 2, but you'll be able to enter MK early together and sit together, even if the ADR time is 10 minutes apart. Hope you see this soon! :)

Thank you everyone for your very helpful tips. I really appreciate it! I have been checking every day, so far no luck. I just realized that originally I posted the wrong dates. We will arrive late Saturday April 30th and will be checking out on May 4th but could do lunch or dinner even on the day we check out. I'll be happy to get seating any time of the day. It doesn't have to be dinner, but I'd prefer it. With our itinerary, the only time that wouldn't work would be the morning on our first full day (May 1st) because we're taking advantage of the EMH at Hollywood Studios.
Is the atmosphere/lighting the same for lunch and dinner? I was thinking at night, it would be dark and the ambient light would be prettier inside. Or does the daylight not shine in?
Thank you again for all of the helpful replies:)

The pre-park open 8:35 am BOG for 2 that I have is still available, and there is an 8:25 for 1 on the site. Let me know if you want it, even if you end up getting the lunch or dinner ADR you prefer and drop it later.

Not sure if you already know, but a pre-park open ADR allows you to enter before the park opens to general public and eat and be ready for rides sometimes even before the rest of the guests arrive. Even with an 8:35 you'll probably be allowed in a little before or around 8 am and shouldbe able to eat early if you want to get out earlier for more advantage with rides with little to no wait.

I'll hold this for a couple more days for you unless you let me know you'll pass! :)

What date to you have the 8:35 am breakfast ADR? It would help knowing if it would fit our itinerary. I'm definitely interested. With the reservation for 2 it wouldn't include my sister, but at least me and my daughter could go and meet up with my sis after the park opens. How would we go about transferring the ADR. Forgive me, I'm fairly new to this and don't know how how the process would work for getting the ADR cancellation from you. Would you let me know when you were calling to cancel, then I would call to get the ADR, or would I do it online. Thank you so much!
