My family and I were so excited when we were able to get ADRs for BOG lunch for our recent trip. We had heard so many great things about it...the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Unfortunately, we only enjoyed 1 1/4 out of the 3.

We had pre-ordered our food a month ahead and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. We checked-in and were given vague instructions where to go inside the building and not given a rose, even though everybody else in our pre-order line had one. Not sure if that is normal or not. After waiting in line, we explained to the cast member that we did pre-order but weren't given a rose and he said it was fine, he would take care of it, and proceeded to go through the process of us paying for our meal.

After going through the ballroom and the west wing, we chose a table in the gallery because it was brighter and quieter. We loved the rooms and the general theming of the whole restaurant.

Then we waited...and waited...and waited. We had families come in after us, get their food, and were about done eating until our food finally arrived. A large family came to a table next to us, ate their food, left, and another party was seated (cast members had brought them to this table) before we were done with our meal. Then one of two cast members who were cleaning tables was constantly talking and complaining (not yelling, but not quietly. I could hear her a few tables away.) to the other cast member about her life, working there, etc. while they went around the room cleaning up the tables. Not something I saw in other restaurants we dined in at Disney.

When our food did come, a lot of it was cold. We didn't get anything unusual. No special orders. Just three Crocque Monsiers, a roast beef sandwich, and three cupcakes. Besides the food being cold, most of it was just...okay. Nothing outstanding, except for the cupcakes! We did love the cupcakes!

After all the talk about this restaurant, we were not impressed. Maybe our case was very unusual? :scratchin

Sorry your family had such a disappointing experience. From what I've seen on DIS, BOG gets a lot of mixed reviews. We had dinner there in 2014 and we had a wonderful experience. For our upcoming trip, I originally scheduled a lunch ADR but have since cancelled it because of the negative reviews and the availability of so many other great lunch options in MK. I just don't want to risk it. Thanks for your honest review!

If you have magicbands They don't give you a rose.

The west wing is the more hectic place to eat. The best place is the music box room.

Waiting for food is ok even is a bit cold because:
You sit down, have a rest for your feet
Don't have to wait in Line at cashier and wait again for your food with pain on your feet
You receive your food at your table (i am disabled, it's a must for me)
The food is 1000 Times better Then hamburgers and hot-dogs

Sorry, you didn't have a great experience. I'm thinking it was unusual only because of the 6-7 times we've dined there now we haven't had any of those issues. We even have allergy concerns and have to speak to a chef before we find a table and have been amazed at how quickly the food still comes out.

I don't remember always getting a rose either. We have had magicbands for the last couple years now, but I recall getting a rose at least once. Like pp I was under the impression that the rose was for when you don't have the bands.

Sorry to hear your experience was so disappointing. I have also heard mixed reviews of BOG lunch, which is the main reason why we decided to do dinner instead.

Hopefully, it was just a unique situation. I did not realize the rose goes to people without magic bands. There must've been a lot of people in my line without them then and I didn't notice.

Sorry you were disappointed, it has continued to be one of our favorites. I would encourage you to give it another chance, and perhaps try the delicious Braised pork dish, the French onion soup, or the Tuna salad. The sandwiches are good, but when all is said and done, they are still sandwiches.

Sorry you had a disappointing lunch. When you realized the food was cold, you should have flagged a CM. Those sandwiches are too expensive to have cold, unappetizing ones.

We've had lunch there 3 times and it has always been great.

For us lunch at BOG was by far the best quick service meal we at Disney when we visited last month. We also pre-ordered our meals and we received our food within 7 or 8 minutes each time we were there. Food temperature , quality etc was excellent and the ambiance is unbeatable.

None of those are acceptable reasons for my family to get cold food.

We've had lunch there 3 times on separate trips, and have had mixed results. The first time, we got hot food. The second time we got warm food, and the third time we got cold food.

We didn't even attempt to get a reservation this time for our trip in two weeks. If they ever improve on their consistency, we might reconsider, but from the constant reviews, they're not moving in the right direction. It has such huge potential, but it's a disaster as it's currently run.

Once you've seen the inside of it once, the food has to start mattering....at least for us, it does. The shiny trinkets don't matter past the first time.

Thanks for you honest review, I've had breakfast and lunch there, once each and frankly it was just o.k for me. Both times we tried it just to say we did, can't know if you are going to like something if you don't try it. I was a little turned off the the cafeteria type rooms, they seemed a little weird to me. I realize all QS places have just about the same thing but BOG struck me as somewhere that couldn't decide what it wanted to be. Is is QS is it TS, hard to tell. We thought the food was o.k., nothing to write Mama about but certainly edible. Just for the record, I don't think we've ever had a hamburger at a QS place and the only hot dog we've had was at Caseys so it's entirely possible to eat QS and not eat a hamburger. I think it was a fluke that it took so long for your food to arrive and to be cold. Ours did seem to take a little longer than most but we did not pre-order and when it arrived it wasn't cold. The entire process could be explained a little better, I'm not sure how they would carry that off though. It can be a little confusing if it's your first time.

Did you try to send the cold food back?

No, we should've but didn't. That's our fault. My husband is usually pretty picky about having his food hot. I did try and flag someone down at one point but nobody was near us and we just wanted to eat and get out of there. I could've gotten up out of my seat to find somebody, or waited until a cm was nearby, but didn't. Since some of our food was cold and some wasn't. We just ate it.

Just as an FYI for those who are light eaters and have never been there before (like us), we've could've shared meals and been satisfied. They do give a good portion of food.

Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your meal. My DD13 and I love BOG so much last year we ate there 3 times, twice for lunch and we had to try their new breakfast (the dinner menu doesn't appeal to us). Our first day, that was our first stop. It took us awhile to find an empty table and we did end up waiting for quite a long time for our food. I wasn't irritated because we were at Disney finally and I try to always be happy there. The server that brought us our food told us he had a hard time locating our table. He mentioned that sometimes if you're looking for a table the sensors at another table will pick you up and tell the CM that's where you sat. It's no excuse, I know, but now I know to try to find a table a little quicker (which we did the two other times there). My roast beef sandwich was a little on the cold side, but I was starving and it was still delicious.
I do agree about sharing meals. My DH one time ordered the braised pork and it easily could have fed our entire family of 3. If I didn't love the sandwiches so much I would split it with him!
Hopefully if you ever try BOG again you'll have a better experience. Most of the time IMO everything is stellar. :)

I would say 'very' unusual!! We've eaten there (usually twice) for lunch each trip and have never had anything but superb service and the food was to our liking also.

We also pre ordered and 'was not' given a rose our last trip - were located by our magic bands, so that should not have been an issue. Maybe you just had an unlucky day!! :confused3

For the pp that thinks the braised pork could serve 3???? Dh & I each get that entree, are not huge eaters, are on the small side, and we neither had any trouble finishing our meals. We don't fill up with lots of snacks, drink only water, so maybe we are always hungry at mealtime. :)

Hopefully it was just a bad day. I purposely found a table and we didn't move from it until we got our food, so that shouldn't have been the problem. I knew ahead of time not to be walking around all over the restaurant.

We had a similar thing happen. We were on a pretty tight timeline to get back for magic express to the airport. We did get a rose even with MBs but it took 20 minutes for food to come out while others around us were served right away. A CM came and checked our order and then kept coming back and was surprised that we still didn't have it. Thankfully he was on the ball but things happen, I guess.

I wasn't wowed by BOG lunch either. It wasn't terrible and we're going back again for our trip next week, but only because it was available and we were in MK that day. I would never try hard for a BOG ADR again.

I pretty much agree with your sentiments. When we had lunch there in April, we waited close to 15 minutes for our food. It wasn't cold, but was only average quality. We also thought the hectic server activity was a bit distracting and took away from the experience of the meal. It reminded me of eating in a big school cafeteria with workers scurrying around. Oh well. Glad we did it once, but there are much better places to spend your lunch money in my opinion.

I would not mind waiting but your food should not be cold. Especially at the prices they charge. Except for salad, that should be cold and crispy! especially at the prices they charge!
