My family and I were so excited when we were able to get ADRs for BOG lunch for our recent trip. We had heard so many great things about it...the service, the atmosphere, and the food. Unfortunately, we only enjoyed 1 1/4 out of the 3.
We had pre-ordered our food a month ahead and arrived a few minutes early for our reservation. We checked-in and were given vague instructions where to go inside the building and not given a rose, even though everybody else in our pre-order line had one. Not sure if that is normal or not. After waiting in line, we explained to the cast member that we did pre-order but weren't given a rose and he said it was fine, he would take care of it, and proceeded to go through the process of us paying for our meal.
After going through the ballroom and the west wing, we chose a table in the gallery because it was brighter and quieter. We loved the rooms and the general theming of the whole restaurant.
Then we waited...and waited...and waited. We had families come in after us, get their food, and were about done eating until our food finally arrived. A large family came to a table next to us, ate their food, left, and another party was seated (cast members had brought them to this table) before we were done with our meal. Then one of two cast members who were cleaning tables was constantly talking and complaining (not yelling, but not quietly. I could hear her a few tables away.) to the other cast member about her life, working there, etc. while they went around the room cleaning up the tables. Not something I saw in other restaurants we dined in at Disney.
When our food did come, a lot of it was cold. We didn't get anything unusual. No special orders. Just three Crocque Monsiers, a roast beef sandwich, and three cupcakes. Besides the food being cold, most of it was just...okay. Nothing outstanding, except for the cupcakes! We did love the cupcakes!
After all the talk about this restaurant, we were not impressed. Maybe our case was very unusual?
