Be our Guest lunch, my experience

We thought that lunch at BOG was pretty "meh". I don't think we would go back for lunch there. I preferred the dinner atmosphere and food. If you want to experience BOG without the dinner prices though it's a good option.

Hi all, I'm curious as to what time everyone is eating lunch. Does your ADR time have a big impact on your BOG lunch experience? I have an 11am lunch ADR for our August trip.

We have eaten there many times, but only for lunch - it is the only meal that appeals to us.

Love, love the braised pork and the french onion soup - 'no' to the over priced cupcakes - not a fan.

We were just there, and again ate in the West Wing (dark room with rose). Had no problems getting a table and really didn't find it chaotic at all.

We eat lunch about 11AM at Disney to avoid the most crowds, and we had a wonderful experience at BOG, as always. We pre ordered and by passed a long line waiting to get in to order - 5 min. tops from checking in to sitting at out table!

Can you eat lunch in different rooms? I thought you had to sit in the big main room for lunch?

I always get the turkey sandwich. I think it's really good.

We have eaten at BOG during "free dining". It was busy but we near had a problem getting a table. The food was ok and was a good use of a QS credit. However, now that we have experienced BOG, I don't think I would go there for lunch if I had to pay OOP.

After a couple of lunches at BOG, we decided that we'd stick with dinner there. It just seems so much like a quick service, with having to line up, and find your own seats, that it's not worth it. We prefer table service meals since it's a nice break from the park. Although they do bring your food to your table, it's too chaotic and not worth the price. I had booked a breakfast for our upcoming trip, but we all decided to cancel it since the experience was too busy.

Now, if they change it to a real table service breakfast or lunch, as they have it with dinner, we would definitely eat there.

It seems like quick service, because it is quick service. Its the same as going to Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays and trying to get a table.

For lunch all three rooms are open and its your choice where to sit.

At dinner, usually only two rooms are open and you sit where the seater assigns you.

We did lunch in 2014 and dinner last year. We enjoyed the lunch at the time, but after experiencing it for dinner I won't do lunch again. It feels like a completely different restaurant at dinner. Our food was very good, service was excellent, and meeting the Beast afterwards made for a really fun experience. I also don't think the dinner prices are that high for the quality of food & the atmosphere, although I live in NYC so I'm probably used to higher restaurant prices than people in other parts of the country.

After doing lunch twice and dinner once, we prefer earlier ADR's there. On our last trip, we had an 11:15a lunch and it was great. Many tables to choose from, it wasn't cafeteria style crazy, and the food great and well prepared. Our favorite is the strawberry cupcake.

For our Dec trip, we hope to score another early lunch ADR!

Oh and we sat in the ballroom all three times.

For us lunch is the best value but breakfast is much less chaotic.

The reason they don't want you to sit at a dirty table is because now that you have stopped moving, the kitchen is alerted by your MB or rose and the food is loaded to be delivered. We have seen it several times, guests standing at a dirty table and here comes their food on the cart.

If you must hold a table, have whoever scanned their MB or has the rose to keep moving around the room until the table is clean. o_O

While I think that's part of it, I think the bigger issue is that if you sit down at a dirty table, how do they know to clean it? They probably just assume that you're the party that was there, and just got up to go fill your drinks and came back to sit down and "finish" your meal.

That is the case at any quick service restaurant. The issue at BOG, which is why CMs "get upset" or tell you to not stand by the table is the lack of movement triggers food delivery. I have been told this several times by CMs working there.

We've done dinner once and lunch twice and all three experiences were satisfactory. But we feel we don't need to ever go there again unless something were to change.

Good to know. Thanks

We had an 11:45 reservation. I'm sure if you went at 11:00 it would be more pleasant.

I've had lunch at BOG several times at different times of the day. My favorite, since they began serving breakfast is 2:30. It really clears out and becomes less of a circus.

I suppose I was fooled by the idea of ADRs and table service. I was hoping for better experience. I know I'm in the minority here, but I would love it if they would make it a table service. I would definitely book there again. But until they find a way to alleviate the chaos, we'll stick with the dinner.

Loved everything about it except the food. Weakest French onion soup I've ever had.

We've had lunch at BOG three times and have never had trouble finding a table.

There will always be pockets of time where it's not an issue but the last few times we went it was a big issue with many wandering. I was with my DS who is disabled and a CM came forward and helped me find a table. It was the far back corner of Rose Gallery for 6. I felt bad taking a big table so we sat at one end so another 2 could sit at other and not be close.
