Be Our Guest Lunch Fastpass

I have a dumb question that I know that has been asked on here but why would you need a fastpass for a restaurant? Is it because it is new? The last time I was at WDW was 2012.
 
Sorry I haven't read the whole thread. Is the fp+ considered one of your 3 fp+ for the day or is it a separate one if you are staying in a resort? TIA!

It is a counter service location that has a very long line. You can wait 30+ minutes just to order. They also serve dinner as a table service location, in the evening, and that ADR is very difficult to obtain. Restaurant opened in November 2012.

I apologize if this has been asked before but I'm looking for info for a friend. If she has a Disney package with a confirmation number including letters is she still able to use the link? If she needs an all number confirmation how can she go about getting one. TIA!

The 12 digit all numeric number is on MDE when you look on the My Reservations link..
Also on the Customize Magic Band page..
And on the yellow baggage tags from the Magical Express - above the Mickey head & barcode.

The number begins with a 4

Yes. FP for BOG is different from other FP+ reservations. You gain access to the reservations by putting in you reservation number, but it is not otherwise tied to your onsite stay. You can choose any day that is available.
 
We were lucky enough to be in one of the very first groups of Be Our Guest FastPass lunch reservations but that was last August. I'm now preparing our September trip.

Sorry as I know the answer is in here somewhere but....how are these FP reservations currently obtained? I clicked the link in the very first post but only received an error.

Also, how far in advance of the date do the FP options normally open up?

So excited I just booked my BOG reservation. Wasn't expecting to order mine and my DH meals this quick. I guess it's good I can modify it.
 
I'm registered on MDE (staying onsite in May) and have found my reservation ID but when I try to log in to fastpass BOG I get the following message "Please ensure that the Reservation ID and names entered below match exactly with your Reservation details." Based on what everyone has said so far I'm pretty certain I have the reservation ID correct and I've even double checked that I have spelt my name right. Anyone know what the problem is?
 
When I first tried to book I was using the res# that included the letters and it wouldn't allow me too. I had to go back into MDE and get the res# that was just numbers and that one allowed me to access the fast pass. Is that the same situation that your having it won't let you type in your #.
 
there are some funky things in the system. If you have booked and used one a lot of people have problems booking it again. I would guess you are using a different e-mail and resort ressie# for your other daughter. I used BOG FP+ last October, have no current resort reservation yet can log in an make a FP+ for the next 5-6 days.

Maybe try clearing cookies or using another browser. When I had the FP+ for my room and my sister's I used Internet Explorer for one and Firefix for the other.
