Be Our Guest Lunch Fastpass

I just called 407-WDW-DINE. I'm hoping that I just got someone who didn't know what she was talking about. But what she told me is that FastPass for Be Our Guest lunch is a day-of thing, that you can only get it in the park that morning that you want the lunch.

The reason I assume that she didn't know what she was talking about is that she said that's the way the system is now, that they switched over to it recently, and that the old way of getting FastPass for BoG lunch on the website was a limited beta test by invite only. I know that's not true, so hopefully the rest is wrong too, but I wanted to throw that out there.

How is that not true? I thought the "beta test" was always this way and that the official line has consistently been "we are in testing, by invitation only" regardless of the implementation.

Yes, but it wasn't by invite only. Anyone could sign up.

We ate at be our guest for lunch last Sunday the 8th using fast pass reservation ( no invite) and it worked perfectly.

The CM's on the phone don't know what they are talking about so it's a waste of time to call.

Oh and don't bother pre ordering your meals, it takes under a minute because they have CM working the computer screen.

That's a loophole in the system, whereby the BOG FP site did not have or use a master list of invitees to check against. Instead, it simply pulls up the reservation details. One of many issues which is why I think this was just a prototype proving to Disney it can be done and save them money.

If they work out the ordering kinks they could renovate a number of other locations to work in a similar fashion.

Online, I do not get the "make a payment" link nor have I found the resort code anywhere...
BUT on my MDE phone app, I found it under My Reservations, then Rooms and Packages.

Hopefully that works for some who are still stuck!!

Still can't get July 12. Has anyone who has been waiting for July 8, 9 or 10 gotten those dates? I'd like to know if we're still in a complete holding pattern or if things are finally inching forward again.

Just tried July 9th and 10th with no luck. July 9th is the earliest I can try.
I think we've been stuck at the 7th or 8th for a while now. :sad2:

My week of July 6-10th is open, but when I try and book for July 9th, it tells me that no Fastpasses are available and to pick another date.

This is frustrating.

NO, I have been waiting on the 8th since Wednesday, something has changed since then, not sure what.

This is a total first world problem, but so annoying. I've been following this thread for weeks, patiently tracking the window as it moved forward to the first day of trip, July 12. And now everything is stuck. And all along, there's been no communication from Disney about how things work. "There are no FastPasses available for this day." They don't even explain if FastPasses are not yet available to be gotten, or if they've all been distributed already. It's not a customer friendly experience.

I'm right there with you, it is frustrating to be 1 day away and nothing, both of us should have had this over with by now. We have already booked our trip for summer 2015 and it will not be Disney. I think I have spent around 70 hours or more on here, I enjoy the posters and learning, but this is getting crazy. All for a QS lunch to see inside a castle. I am the one that's crazy for enduring this.
Here's some pixie dust, we both need it pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

:offtopic: I don't drink but this is driving me close to the edge

I'm having too much anxiety about this and I'm nowhere close to being able to schedule fast passes. I got a dinner BOG this morning.

it's a "test" supposedly only for those who get the invitation although tons of people have used it without the invite.

I think your complaints would be more legitimate if Disney had made an announcement that BOG FP+ was now available but I don't believe that they have yet. Maybe they have not because they are still working through the issues.

My complaints are legitimate because they give no indication about it being a test on their very public, very Google-searchable website. It's just "Experience the next generation of quick service dining here! Make your FastPass reservations for Be Our Guest here! Oh look, here's the days you're staying in site! Come on, choose a day for your passes! Select the party that you want to join you, and don't worry, you can reduce the size if your party upon arrival at the restaurant! Hey, do you want Expedited Arrival or Direct-to-Table?! SORRY!!! Oh, that's too bad, there are no FastPasses for your selected day! Please try another day! Thank you!"

If they don't want their customers to get frustrated, a very simple sentence on their website, indicating who can book and for what days would solve this problem. Instead, they are just making us more and more frustrated with the complete lack of information. We had to learn the rules of the game by trial and error, and sharing our experiences on this thread. We have every right to be frustrated when suddenly the rules change, again with no explanation.

Just because the website comes up in search results does not mean it is a public website. If I wanted to I could pull up the front page for employee-only websites for hundreds of companies. It doesn't mean I belong in any of them. The search bots for Google and other engines are automated and crawl down every link they can find. My bet is the Google search engine initially found the page through a posting on this website or similar. Everything that's not held behind firewalls is pulled and stored in those search databases. Disney had to make the site available to the web if they wanted a true test of the system.

Aside from all the bugs, the only real mistake on this iteration of the BOG FP website in relation to the public was allowing everyone with a reservation number in. Keep in mind some of these folk have had to do backflips to get that number.

Before I found our numerical reservation number when it went to the site it did state something to the effect that this was a test program only being offered to guest of certain resorts. Now that I am logged in, I can not find the exact wording anymore.
