Be our Guest for lunch--do they assign your table or do you choose?

I've wanted to try BOG for a while but only for dinner--because I was worried that the counter service nature of lunch and breakfast would be too chaotic.
But then started to wonder--do they assign you a table? Or do you choose?

I just know how some counter service restaurants get so busy, it's hard to find seating once you have your food, and I wasn't sure if it is like that at BOG?

Thanks

We've eaten an early 11 am lunch there twice and you can pick your table-at least we did. We love it! They serve you your food, you don't walk up and pick it up like other CS locations. It is just a neat place. Highly recommend!

So there were plenty of available tables? I just have stressful thoughts that we will be wandering around trying to find an available table and won't find one before our food is ready!

You choose your own table.

When I visited, I went right at noon and there was plenty of seating. I had the same concern, that it would be too crowded. It wasn't!

I would arrive early...we had no issue getting a table, lots open. Do it! You won't regret it! We are not eating there this trip and we are so sad LOL.

Thank you!!!

I am late in reserving--going in early January. But I know from previous trips that if I keep checking and am flexible with the days/times, I can usually find something, especially in the week before when people are cancelling the cc guaranteed reservations.

We went in April for lunch and there was plenty of room. In fact, they had closed one of the room (don't remember which one) but we choose room with the rose. After we finished our lunch, they had opened up the room that was closed.

Not to Hijack the thread, but does anyone know if people without reservation can walk in and join a party if they arent eating? We have BOG res for 3at PPO at 8:55. Since my sister and mom arent part of the res, they will have to wait till the park opens at 9 to come in, but can they join us while we are eating and just hang out?

And wow! I was just able to snag a 11:05 am reservation for one of the days we are there! Perfect! Thanks or the help! I'm excited! :)

You seat yourself and it does get crowded but tables turn over fast. The room with the rose seems to be the smallest and hardest to get a seat in.

No they will not be allowed in. We had a similar situation and our party had to split up because they did not get a reservation.

Keep trying for an additional ADR for your family members. Cancelations occur all of the time.

This is a great question. Thanks for asking & answering.
We ate last trip & I couldn't remember.
Also, can anyone explain the layout of the rooms? I think last time we just kind of walked in & chose a room without thinking. Looking online now, I see the descriptions of the rooms & would like to try to pick a certain room. Can anyone help? I would rather not make my party of 7 (if we get the reservation) walk around cluelessly with me trying to find a seat. For example....walk in & go left for this room, but right for another...know what I mean?

How will it work if we have 2 ADR's that are 10 minutes apart? We are a party of 10 and had to split into groups of 4 & 6 but we like to be on one check and sit together. Will this be a problem? We did not do the pre-ordering of our meals.

You should be fine. You can all sit together at any open table. It is a large space and you should find something

How early can you get there for lunch. We also had to split up our group of 6 but would like to all eat together. If 4 have reservations for 1:05pm and 2 have reservations for 1:30 will we be let in at the same time. We are planning on preordering but have not done so yet as we still have a few weeks before we travel. Thanks.

BoG lunch was one of my favorite meals! I had the braised pork and a strawberry cupcake. Everything was delicious, the entree was the perfect temp, it was so so good. I didn't realize how hungry I really was until I was grubbing. You will love it!

Keep on trying to get something more closer in time since you still have time.

This is just my thinking but for your 1:05 pm reservation, don't pre-order. This way, you are buying some time to be together with group who'll has 1:30 pm. Pre-order for 1:30 pm group only since food will come out faster if you pre-order.

If they don't let 1:30 pm group enter same same as 1:05 pm group, you can always save space for them once you enter so you can eat together.

EDIT: For your 1:30 pm group, have you tried to break them up and do 1 and 1 for closer to 1:05pm? Or enter 4 for closer time for 1:05pm and if you get it, you can change to 2. I've done this. I couldn't get ADR for one place for 2 but was able to get it for 4 so I reserved for 4 then changed to 2.

EDIT 2: And don't forget to check if any of the DISers here will be cancelling. Check the cancellation thread for December.

Thanks, great idea about not preordering for one group and preordering for the other.

I am still checking and will continue to do so even up to day before and day of.
