Be our Guest for lunch--do they assign your table or do you choose?

Thanks, great idea about not preordering for one group and preordering for the other.

I am still checking and will continue to do so even up to day before and day of.

Linda
Like I said, see if you can get 1 and 1 reservation closer to your 1:05 pm time. When I was playing around with it, I found reservation for 1 was lot easier than 2.

Stealing the thread: If I wanted, would I be able to get a seat in the west wing or is that closed during lunch?

The West Wing was open for seating both times we ate lunch at BOG in September.
YESS! Thank you! I was planning to eat earlier at 10:30 and get rid of my 12:55 adr because I thought that would give me a better chance to eat in the west wing!! Now I'm glad that I'll definitely be able to! Thanks again!!!

We've done lunch there 3 times and every time all 3 rooms were open and had available seating. We've eaten in the West Wing once and the Music Box room twice.

How early can you get there for lunch. We also had to split up our group of 6 but would like to all eat together. If 4 have reservations for 1:05pm and 2 have reservations for 1:30 will we be let in at the same time. We are planning on preordering but have not done so yet as we still have a few weeks before we travel. Thanks.
Lunch starts at 10:30. This is a great time to go. We have walked in several times by getting there at 10:30.

This is a great question. Thanks for asking & answering.
We ate last trip & I couldn't remember.
Also, can anyone explain the layout of the rooms? I think last time we just kind of walked in & chose a room without thinking. Looking online now, I see the descriptions of the rooms & would like to try to pick a certain room. Can anyone help? I would rather not make my party of 7 (if we get the reservation) walk around cluelessly with me trying to find a seat. For example....walk in & go left for this room, but right for another...know what I mean?

After you've ordered and paid, you'll go into one end of the main dining room, which I call the ballroom. It's huge and very pretty - murals on the ceilings and such. Even so, for me it has all the atmosphere of a middle school cafeteria - very loud and noisy with sounds echoing off the walls and ceilings. The only seating is tables and chairs. On the left side of the ballroom is the door into the West Wing room - much smaller, quite dark and more gloomy. We don't eat in there because we don't care for that atmosphere. Our favorite room is what I call the Gallery. The entrance for it is on the right side of the ballroom. Since you enter the ballroom on the right side, it's hard to see that doorway until you walk about halfway down. The Gallery has life sized figurines of Belle and the Beast in the center that rotate to music . The walls are covered with scenes from the movie that are framed to look like paintings in a gallery. There are tables along the walls that have padded bench seating on the wall side, and other tables closer to the center. We always eat in the Gallery. The furniture is very substantial and comfortable, and the room is always quieter then the Ballroom. We find it a great place to relax and have a break.

I am confused about how BOG works for lunch? It is quick service, but you can get an ADR for that? That must be what people are talking about with the pre-ordering? Are there both folks with ADR's and without just walking up at lunch time? I haven't been able to snag any ADR's for our trip coming up in Nov. and I've been going back and trying quite a bit. We definitely want to try BOG so I'm thinking walking in for lunch will be our only option.

I've been under the impression that they really don't accept walk-ins since the restaurant is so packed with those that have reservations...but maybe I'm mistaken

Technically they accept walk-ins, but you're right, the place is generally completely booked, so I wouldn't count on having lunch there without an ADR. You can always ask at the little check-in building. I've heard that the best luck for walk-ins is at the very beginning of their lunch service at 10:30 (which is more like breakfast time to me) and at the end of their lunch service, which is 2 or 2:30.

The last time I had lunch there (January 2014, so granted, it was awhile ago), we did not get to select our own seats for lunch. We'd eaten lunch there the previous year and had gotten to select our own table. I was disappointed, but it sounds like they've changed back to letting guests select their own seats. I'm hoping to get a lunch reservation there for our May trip and would love to select our own seat.

We've eaten there a dozen or so times in the last couple years, and we've always been able to select our own seats at lunch. I think that there is no choice for dinner and that you are seated. But that hasn't been the case for lunch any time we've been there.

We've always been able to choose our own seats at breakfast and lunch. We first ate there shortly after it opened in 2012 and have been back at least once a year since then.

We ate there last week an were not able to goose our own seats at lunch, but I think that something was wrong with the locator system they use to find you at your table. They sat us, took our receipt, and then returned our receipt to us when they brought our food - it had our table number and Location written on the top. This was an unusual instance, however, as I've been able to choose my seat before.
