Am I missing something, or does $24 for breakfast seem a little steep?
Don't get me wrong, I live in Manhattan and am used to crazy prices everywhere I go, including Disney World- however the BOG menu choices are the same price (also strange) and it just seems like a LOT of money for breakfast.

Is this a new menu? Can someone share their experience?

I've eaten at BOG both for lunch and dinner- but not breakfast.

Thanks!

I think BOG breakfast is extremely over priced...I have heard though (in their defense, lol) that you get a pastry basket with your entree. Basically BOG breakfast is a great way to use a QS credit on the dining plan OR a good way to have early access into fantasyland...and don't get me wrong but people will pay those prices just for the early entry into the park. For me personally I would rather pay a little more and have a TS meal with Winnie the Pooh in an early entry ADR than pay the prices of BOG and we ALWAYS get the dining plan

That's a great point.
We NEVER get the DDP because financially it doesn't make sense the way we eat. We only get one dessert and rarely sodas/juice- I could go on and on but that's for a different thread.
That being said, we pay out of pocket, so $24 seems absurd, especially if it doesn't include coffee.
I didn't realize that BOG breakfast was considered QS. I may do the math again (10th year in a row) and see if maybe, just maybe, the dining plan works for us this time around.

Back on topic, the BOG breakfast pics do look really really good. I just think it's crazy expensive.

Crazy! When it started last yr., really wanted to try the cronut item, and then saw that all brft items were $20, and I was seriously shocked! It's not even an entree, just a fancy donut! We did have FD, so we could have used a QS, but that still seemed wasteful. We love CP and TH for brft, and payed OOP for CP as our extra TS, and for $30 had a full buffet, plus my fave, Tigger!:tigger:Now it's up to $24, and I guess for early entry to get some pics and jump on SDMT, I'd think about using a QS, or for someone who hasn't gotten to go in the castle, and can't get a lunch I could see doing it, but lunch is a much better value.

the menu has not changed it's the same menu higher prices. I thought the prices before were bad for what you get the food is brought out on a cart and my food was cold and unappealing. It was worth it to us for the early entry. Now at the new price I wouldn't even consider it. I find a doughnut with a side of pastries for 24 dollars for breakfast crazy!

They really just need to make it like CRT. The prices are high because more than just a few people only want to go because of the castle or early entry so they will just get coffee or a cupcake. The high cost off sets people who don't actually go to eat.

That's true. Many people have been considering going and buying one breakfast to share and beverages.

Don't forget $24 includes coffee and pastries. But that still means the entree price is coming out around $16 which is still crazy.

BOG breakfast looked great for $20, as entree at $12 plus drink at $3 and pastires at $5 seemed about right value wise.

Although BOG lunch prices have also gone up, $17 for a beef sandwich now. so I think there is probably around a $3-4 premium on every entree just for the pleasure of dining in the Beasts Castle.

I don't believe coffee/beverages are still included. Changed when the price changed

We had Breakfast at BOG our last trip about an hour or so after RD. Breakfast was good much better taste and food quality that CS items we had at the parks before. It was about $52 for DH and while yeah it is expensive (since we could go to IHOP and get breakfast for half the price) everything in Disney is over priced. It was more than enough food. I found this is a better value for our money than going to CP. I made the mistake to make a reservation for our December trip. The food quality had really gone down there since we were there last. I personally didn't find many items I liked. While there is more variety nothing stands out everything was mediocre at best. Now DH eats a LOT and he also thought the quality and offering where blah. We will go back for the BOG breakfast.

All reports here are that it is still included with any entree purchase. If you just order a cupcake, it is not, nor is the pastry platter. Assumption is they added the price point for coffee so those who are sharing an entree could then both have their own coffee.

Yes as of at least 2 weeks ago beverages were included. And I think as long as one person orders an entree (even a kids meal entree) the pastries are given. For 3 of us we ordered 2 entrees and 1 cupcake. They told us all to get drinks and the pastries were brought out.

The a la carte beverages are for those splitting entrees who need an extra beverage, or so you can order coffee and a day-old cupcake for breakfast.

That said, the $24 for an entree is ridic, "good value on the dining plan!" or not. What "good value" in this case means "inflated to make the DP look better."

$24 is nearly an adult buffet at Boma.

the day old cupcake made me lol.

The prices are absolutely ridiculous if paying OOP and I would never pay that amount out of pocket... But, since we were able to get FD and I think we are going to have plenty of QS credits anyway, we may now try and get a PPO bfast ADR there. It's worth it on the dining plan plus then we get to get into the park early and get some castle pics w/o a million people and maybe get an early jump on some rides.

I think many fight hard to get this sought after reservation they want to LOVE IT after all that and the hype about the place..and try to convince themselves they didnt just shell out $24 for this in vain. ;)

Agree completely. It's more about the acquisition of the reservation than it is the food. I've seen several people here who post that they love it and they haven't even eaten there yet.
