Be Cautious With This Ebay WDW Ticket Seller

By the way, a quick Google search turned up this 2000 news release from the Florida Attorney General:

http://myfloridalegal.com/newsrel.nsf/0/23A94D576766169B852569060070BEA0?OpenDocument

The gist seems to be that in Florida, it is illegal to sell partly used nontransferable theme park tickets. The maximum penalty is 60 days in jail and a $500 fine.

I am sure that different states have different laws about reselling admission tickets. Sounds like it's definitely illegal in FL though.

This correction may seem silly to some people, but it's a little upsetting to me when people lay the blame (or credit) at my door for something I never wrote.

Sorry Mary..I didn't question where the quote came from, and before I talked about what you said, I should have made sure it WAS what you said. I just knew that it wasn't illegal in my state. I don't blame you for only wanting to take the blame (or credit) for what you actually have on your wonderful site!

If I really had to know what the law was I would have gone and looked, but since I already know what it is where I live, I didn't check it out to make sure it was from you : )

As far as not buying a ticket on eBay, well, that's the great thing about the web..everyone can decide their comfort zone, and buy accordingly. I have bought much higher priced stuff on eBay (and the web), and felt I had taken the same type of chance (and I sold a ticket myself). Obviously not everyone should take that chance, and never without checking out the seller.

By the way, most people won't sell "used" tickets to people who live in FL..or at least they post they won't.

If you make sure that the seller of WDW tickets has decent feedback and is Paypal verified with a verified address and you call to check the days left on the pass as soon as you get it, I don't see how buying tickets on Ebay isn't 100% safe. Especially considering that selling the tickets online is in fact a misdimeanor and with a verified Paypal member you have their address. I would think that most sellers would be very cooperative in that situation.

Uh, its a misdemeanor in FLA, its perfectly legal here in OH.

The lister has been suspended. Still not willing to call it a scam, and until an explaination is forthcoming, which I doubt it will be, I will think someone hijacked his account.

LOL which would mean it's a scam.

There is another seller on there selling an "ultimate park hopper" with one day left on it. I think he says he has six of these. The picture is of a room key.

Aren't UPH's good during your stay and expire midnight at checkout? I emailed the seller asking for clarification if it was an ultimate park hopper or a regular park hopper and I got no response.

It's possible to add regular park hopper tickets to your room key BUT I'd go with a seller who either doesn't know any better (didn't use the pass on one day) or is just scamming people.

There's a power seller called "dunnthat" who seems to have a store in Orlando that you can collect tickets from if you like, or you can have them Fedexed. These are new, unused tickets that are up for auction, and there seem to be several types. What's everyone's thoughts? Is someone like this safe to buy from? Does the "power seller" status give more comfort? I'm an E-bay newbie, so I'm not of the answers.

That guy has great feedback!! I emailed him a few times and they seem to be on the up and up. He emailed me a link to their website as well. Most of their feedback is from park tickets and I even emailed one who said they had problems with the tickets.

Looks like the hijacker is back...I just found this auction with the exact same wording as the first and the tickets are $150, same qty and same location (UK). Looks like the sellers id has never been used to sell, only to buy on ebay, so I think his account was hijacked. I reported the auction to ebay so they can investigate. Just a heads up so you don't bid on these (not that anyone on here would be silly enough to I like to think! :)

I emailed the seller asking the questions I asked previously (on a different user name). He cannot answer how many plus days are on the tickets. He just copies and pastes what is in his auction. Then I asked about payment and he said that he only takes Western Union. HUGE red flag right there!! It makes me sick that people try to scam others out of their hard earned money like this guy is! UGH! Hopefully if everyone reports this guy, the auction will be pulled.

**Woohoo it was pulled!!!** The seller is now "not a registered user" so looks like this ebay user was another victim of account hijacking. UGH!

It's probably for registered or certified mail. Most of the auctions for tickets charge that amount.

Insured, registered shipping probably. I'd like to know what he is using for the "bus (spelled buss) passes" though. Wonder if those are 2 left over days?
