I just came back from my trip to DL, and though I would share my experience with using Execucar. On my outward bound leg to DL, I booked a Honda Odyssey for service direct from LAX to HOJO's and return. On arriving in LAX I contacted the 1-800 number provided, and was upgraded to a Town Car for the same price. The problem came up on returning this morning from HOJO"s to LAX. At 10 mins before my Honda Odyessy was due to arrive a SuperShutte van pulled up and told me to get in. This was not what I had ordered, and basically argued with him for 5 mins, telling him that I wanted what I had paid for, which was the van. He demanded that I call his supervisor, and asked for my confirmations which I had with me. After refusing to back down, and was insisting that I get the service I paid for, they backed down and 5 mins later the vehicle that I had ordered to get me to the airport arrived, and there was no further problems. So if you do make ressies with them keep all your confirmation info close at hand, and don't have them try to pull the bait and switch on you like they tried to do this morning to me. The way I view it is forwarned is forearmed and be aware of this.

Wow, thanks for letting us know about this! You did an awesome job, Belledozer!! I would probably get flustered and be afraid of missing my flight, which is no doubt what they're hoping for.

Kudos! :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience with Super Shuttle/ExecuCar and the driver!! It sounds like they must have 'run out of' the kind of vehicle you wanted (those vehicles were all in use, I suppose) and they figured they would just send another vehicle on to get you so you would get to LAX on time. I suppose, in some cases, a customer would be happy with whatever vehicle showed up to take them, as long as they made it to LAX on time, but someone at Super Shuttle/ExecuCar should have called you earlier and told you that the vehicle you wanted was not available and then asked you if a Super Shuttle van would be okay. You did pay for a specific vehicle, so a courtesy call on their part would have been appropriate!! If nothing else, they should have let you know just so you would know to look out for a different vehicle!! Or they should have told you when you first placed the order that the kind of vehicle requested cannot be guaranteed.

You know, I used Super Shuttle/ExecuCar/Express Shuttle last December. My order was a point-to-point order, meaning there were no airport stops involved and they just picked me up from my home and took me straight to DLR. I was actually pretty pleased with them. First of all, because they ended up sending me a vehicle from ExecuCar or Express Shuttle (all under the umbrella of Super Shuttle), the price of the one-way trip to DLR was cheaper than if a straight Super Shuttle driver had taken me. Second, they showed up on time - a little early, in fact - and got me to DLR in 40 minutes.

It was an expensive order for point to point service, but I would use them again if I didn't have a ride and needed an exact price before hand. They told me exactly what kind of vehicle was picking me up when I ordered and that was exactly what showed up.

(Also, the driver I had gave me some of his business cards and offered to do the same point-to-point service in the future for about half-price. I haven't called him yet.)

I wonder if the person was dispatched for *someone else*, and once your confirmation info was transmitted they realized it.

I once had an opposite issue with a SS driver, when she was blocking me from getting on her van because she didn't think that I belonged on it. After several minutes of going back and forth, it turned out that the computer system had mangled my very simple name (the only mistake people usually make is one vowel in my last name, though the vowel doesn't change the sound of the name, or calling me Holly instead of Molly, but if it's written that doesn't matter), AND she thought I was with the children behind me. And when I say behind me, I mean they were up near the HoJo checkin building, and I was on the *sidewalk*. Since her reservation was for one person, she didn't want to hear me when I said that I belonged on her shuttle. And she was surprised that I had my confirmation page with me, but the # on it showed her that she was wrong.

Especially since the shuttle was early, I can't help but wonder if the shuttle driver was just really confused, and there for someone else...
