Ha! ponchos are for quitters!! Only the true seasoned Disney park connoisseur will forego those ponchos and tough it out in the down pouring rain, wet shoes and all! 
Just joking! We usually don't go when it's significantly rainy, but when we do we don't bring ponchos. It's probably a good idea to bring them for day wear, but we usually just get the cheapy ones from the dollar store that only hold up for Grizzly River Rapids. I didn't even think about how easily people could lose each other because everyone looks alike in them. Maybe you could write the first initial of the last name in a big letter across the back of the poncho. Though I wouldn't write out the full name, just because of safety reasons.
