My family and I are thinking of breakfast at Be Our Guest, we have done dinner there but not breakfast. I would like any opinions, reviews (good, bad or ugly). Thanks in advance for your responses.

Loved it! Food was great! But we are on the dining plan. I wish you could pay separately for drinks and the pastry basket.

I have not been yet, but we have breakfast reservations for our trip in November. A few complaints I've heard are that people don't like the menu and that it's too expensive. Take a look at the menu before you book. We really like the choices and we are on the dining plan so those factors didn't matter for us. We couldn't get a lunch reservation so we were happy with the pre park opening ADR we got for breakfast instead.

We just got back and ate breakfast at BOG for the first time. One of the reasons I made the reservation was because we wanted to be in the park before it opened. We pre-ordered our meal the day before, and we all ordered the croissant doughnut. Our reservations were for 8:20, and we were seated in a timely fashion. I went up to get my coffee. By the time I got back to the table, our food was just getting there. I have to say that that is the best doughnut I have ever eaten!! It was just enough to eat and had fresh fruit and pastries that came with it as well. That was probably the quickest meal I have ever eaten. We were out of there by 8:50 and went over to 7DMT and walked right on. That's what I was looking for. However, the family sitting next to us was complaining that they had to wait 15 minutes for their food. I think they just wanted to get out into the park because I don't think waiting 15 minutes for food is long at all. I did notice that they ordered sandwiches, which was probably the reason for the wait time.

We loved our breakfast there, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again on a future visit!!

Breakfast at BOG was very good. We had the Open faced poached egg sandwich and Eggs Florentine. We've been to BOG for lunch and Dinner as well and for us the Breakfast was the best.

I was underwhelmed. I don't know how they ruined ham, but it was completely dry (like the turkey in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation). For something called Eggs Florentine, I was expecting a bed of spinach in the pastry shell, not a tiny garnish-like sprig hidden in the corner. For $20 I could get a nice breakfast for two at my local diner, and they wouldn't make me get my own drinks cafeteria-style. That was the only time on this trip I felt like I'd been custy'd.

Pros -
- If you get a pre-opening time frame then yes there is more value because you can hit the rides at opening, I call it paying for FP+.
- If you have never seen BOG and this is the only reservation you can get there is value, cover charge if you will.
- If you are on the DDP and don't mind using a credit for breakfast (we never do) then it is a value.
- If you always eat breakfast, calculate the entree cost compared to a "Bountiful Breakfast" and add cost of drink and pastries, probably... a value.
- Food is good. Not great. Not bad.

Cons -
- It is expensive.
- It is expensive considering most of the portion sizes.
- Some side items were almost joke in size. They were more of a garnish, not worthy of listing on menu.
- It costs as much as some TS yet it is a QS meal. Get your own table, flatware, drinks .... but pay TS prices.
- I personally can eat at some TS meals with my TiW discounts cheaper since I normally would get water.
- Menu is as assortment of hit or miss items. Personally $20 for a doughnut is insane - no doughnut is that good.

But, people just keep getting it and talking about how GOOOOOOOOD it is.

The cronut at Refreshment Port at Epcot is better, and is still overpriced at $5.

Agree with your post. I believe that most people are more obsessed with the novelty of it rather than the food. We weren't that impressed and won't go back.

And you can also go to your local county fair and go on a carousel but I wouldn't compare it to Magic Kingdom. You can also stay at a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn but I wouldn't compare it to a Deluxe Hotel because you can stay there cheaper.

If you are going to BOG is is not for the value of the food or to do a New York Times Dining review (even though we enjoyed our breakfast). Its a quick service, so you should not be surprised you need to get your own drinks. The atmosphere is neat, the decor and setting is not something you find at your local diner. I think its worth going at least once just to try it. Personally I like the 99 cent breakfast at IKEA but I dont plan on vacationing there.

For us, the food was good. Expensive, but we all really liked our meals. We got our food extremely fast. It was very loud and busy. I had heard it compared to a cafeteria, so I was prepared for it. The business of it took away from the atmosphere a bit. We did a pre park opening breakfast on our first day of MK so I think for most of us, we were just so anxious to get out and start our day. We did lunch later in the week and enjoyed that much more.

We enjoyed it (I had the open faced egg baguette thing and DH had the meat and cheese platter)! I found it surprisingly filling. I think it's a great value for a QS if you're on the DDP. But it is pricey if you aren't.

We really enjoyed it. We had a pre-park opening ADR and were in the restaurant for 8:05. I ordered the croissant donut--which was amazing. DH had the eggs florentine and both DDs had the kids eggs and bacon. We all really enjoyed our meals as well as the pastry plate.
We were done by 8:40 and got a ride on the Mine Train before the rope drop crowd made it over.

We are planning on doing it again in October--but for 2 reasons only:
  • We have the dining plan and it's a quick service. No way would I pay $22 per adult for what you get. No way. It's a good use of a quick service credit though.
  • Because I was able to get pre-park opening ADR. I wouldn't waste precious park time to eat here. Even though it's quick, I wouldn't do it.
Good luck with your decision!!!

That's why I am going - for the novelty of it. I wouldn't say I am obsessed with it though. It is pricey, but what at Disney isn't? Some people stay at the Grand Floridian, I would never spend that much on a hotel, but I will overpay for BOG breakfast while staying at POP. I have had dinner and lunch at BOG and expect I will enjoy breakfast there. I may only do it once, but I will go and see for myself.
