Looking into flights for october from BDL (CT) to Mco and wow we used to take delta and they are outragous....
Wondering if anyone knows of any other carriers that I could get adirect flight from...I know SW does but when do these flights open up for oct????

Hi,

Southwest just opened through the first week of August about two weeks ago, and they've been opening up about two months' worth every six to eight weeks.

My guess is that if you are going in early October, Southwest will release those dates some time in the next 4-6 weeks.

If you are going in late October, you may have to wait until June for the flight info to be released.

We are noticing the same thing here...we need a flight for july and they have been ranging from $400-800..thats just insane. My sister thought maybe it has to do with the song change over but i dont know. THe last few times i flown from hartford its been 126-176.00 range. Plus now i checked some flights for december and it looks like they eliminated the friday nights flight down. Sure wish there were other carriers that flew nonstop besides delta and southwest!

I know I am not going to pay that kind of money to fly to florida...What and who are you going to fly???

I dont know...im really stuck because we have vouchers from a past flight we have to use up...$176 a person and there are 4 of us. If these prices continue to be this high i will consider flying out of lga/jfk. I dont like to, but if i could get a price of $200 from there nonstop ill take it--best of luck to you! If i see prices dropping ill be sure to post, ive been watching them nonstop...btw--you might want to sign up for the farewatcher at travelocity. They will notify you when prices change by email

We're going in Oct. also and generally fly out of BDL. The Delta fares are higher than we're used to paying, but the Southwest fares look like they'll be very close to what Delta is charging (unless you get a good DING fare, or a Southwest sale).

2 cheaper direct flight alternatives might be to fly Allegiant Air out of Stewart in Newburgh, NY. If you book far enough ahead their fares are aroung $60 - 65 each way. The drawback with this is that they only fly into Sanford, not MCO. I've never flown them but they seem to get good reviews on this board.

The other alternative is to fly AirTran out of Westchester County Airport in White Plains, NY. They're charging $99 each way on direct flights.

when are you flying in oct???

I really want to fly direct out of bdl and feel like we are soo very stuck...

Do you really think SW will be as high as delta...

What is this travelocity thing fare watcher???

It is outrageous.

Try the Bradley website for a list of all the airlines. I think Southwest and Delta are the only non-stop flights. At this point I would wait.

I am wondering if waiting is really the best thing or will rates keep going up???

I would wait for Southwest but then that's me. Last year I booked Delta to find the price had dropped two days later. It's a guessing game. :confused3

I have been watching flights from both BDL and PVD (Providence/Warwick) for our trip in December and am not pleased with what prices are out there! :guilty: DH keeps on telling me to relax, as we have quite a bit of time yet...but being the family worrier that I am, I continue to monitor the airline prices daily. So far, the only options out there for true non-stop service will be through Delta and SW. Delta has a non-stop for our dates, but the price was $998/pp :sad2: I am impatiently waiting on SW DING, but have seen their prices rising as well! I am considering looking at Northwest service...Most flights connect in Atlanta mostly, but do not have very long layovers...For all 5 of us to fly Northwest, I found a total of $980...I am tempted to book it now, but I am also trying to decide if I should hold out for SW to release for December first...What is a Disney Vacation Planning Mom to do?!?!? :rolleyes2 :surfweb:
