BDL question

How early should we arrive for our 6:20 AM flight (it's on a Tuesday if that matters) for BDL. We've never been to this airport before and DH and I disagree on a time so I am looking for some other opinions. I looked at the airport website and couldn't find a suggested amount of time.

The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) at Bradley International Airport has completed a study to discover wait-time trends at the Airport. Following are estimated timeframes it will take to process through the security checkpoint only. The airlines suggest arriving 90 minutes prior to departure time.

Terminal A - Peak Periods

5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: 30 Minutes

1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: 20 Minutes

Thank you LWQuestie I guess I didn't click on advisory. DUH That reccomendation is closer to the time DH was thinking. I wanted to get there at least 2 hours early.

Actually now that I look closer at the site it is not the one I was looking at ?? because the one I found didn't have parking prices on it just a link to outside places. Thanks again

Two hours would be 4:20, the counters may not be open that early. I think 90 minutes is more reasonable. I flew from BDL last month, there was no line around 1:00pm.

Personally, I have never run into long security lines at BDL, or at least lines that didn't move quickly. Most counters may not open until 5:00 (just an assumption based on experience at other airports. But as long as you can park in the garages, it is a quick walk across the walkway to the terminal.

In my experience, the counters at bdl don't open until 5 am, so there's no sense in getting there any earlier than that.

Agree with others, we have never had a problem with security early in the morning at Bradley. We get to the airport about and 1 1/2 before our flights sometimes a little less and we have always been through security with no problems at all.

i recently had a 6:15am flight out of bdl and ran into a line at 5am in the swa baggage area - not security.
