So, my sister and I will be headed to WDW in Feb for a sister's only bday weekend. We are staying at Bay Lake Tower Contemporary and will be spending only one full day at the parks. We plan to eat a big breakfast (hopefully at Kona) and then eat a late lunch. We want to make it to MK by the time Spectromagic begins (traditionally at 7pm) so we are thinking of having lunch around 4pm. Here are my options....help please!!!

Kona Lunch (but we will have just had breakfast there!)
Grand Floridian Cafe Lunch
The Wave Lunch

Thoughts??

Have you checked the menu's yet on www.allearsnet.com? That might make the decision easier if you see something you want to eat.

The GFC is very good-the roast beef sandwich and the Grand sandwich were excellent. The GFC tends to be quiet and elegant.

Kona is also good-the Kona club is huge. The wings are a good choice for an appetizer. The crabcakes were just so-so. This restaurant tends to be a little more noisy since it is open to the lobby.

Both restaurants have big juicy burgers.

I have not dined at the Wave yet.

On the other hand, last year we had lunch at The Plaza for my birthday. A few citizens of Main Street happened to notice and proceeded to sing happy birthday to me! ;)

Are you looking to have lunch late and then no dinner?

If not, and you're planning dinner later, my thought is to do the afternoon tea at the Garden View Lounge at GF. It's great fun. The pianist in the lobby is playing and it's relaxing and rather celebratory.

But, it's probably not enough food to substitute for dinner.

I WAS actually thinking about the tea....we are known to be quite the snackers so the tea might actually suffice!!

The tea can be very filling. I always get the option that includes tea sandwiches, a scone with jam/cream, a fruit tart and two selections from the pastry tray. I am stuffed by the time I leave. It would be my first suggestion for your special meal.

Second would be the Grand Floridian Cafe. I just returned from WDW and had lunch there one day, never having been there before. It was delicious! The cucumber salad was delicious and the desserts are just the right size. That said, it was probably less food than I have at the tea so I'd definitely consider both options.
