So I've decided to add a few nights stay prior to our Disney cruise on the Fantasy next year October. I know it's difficult to get a villa at BCV during F&W, especially since it's not my home resort. Anyone had any experience waitlisting for the month of October? Are my chances slim to none? I would need a 2 bedroom standard view. I have a strong feeling there won't be anything available when I call at the 7 month mark.

If it was just now or yesterday you waitlisted you are basically very near the bottom of the who knows how long the waitlist is. Your odds are very slim thanks to the Food and wine Festival.

The only chance you might have is if when June 23rd comes, the rest of us dvc members can book Grand Floridian, that people move their reservation out of beach club and into the new resort freeing up some space where you want. There will be some, I am moving mine from the current location to the Grand FLoridian if I can leaving behind my resort for someone who is waitlisted.

I'm confused by your question, the 7 month mark for October was months ago, January is booking now so this would be a really late waitlist. Your best bet would be to waitlist a much less popular resort. I think your chances are next to nil.

i don't think there will be much availability for VGF to be had on June 23rd.

You are talking about next year 2014 yes?

Book at your home resort first so you have a villa and when the 7 month window opens up, call first thing in the morning or waitlist on-line. Not sure how many nights you are looking to add on, but for a 2BDR, I think your chances are pretty good. I would waitlist BWVs as your second choice.

If you are talking about this year - then yes, you are at the bottom and your chances are slim but still have a chance.

The problem with two bedroom villas at BCV is that there are three categories. One you will not get at seven months out - dedicated with two queen beds in the second bedroom. There are only 25 of them and they go quickly at eleven months out. They also have dedicated with one queen and one double sleeper sofa and lockoffs. If you book exactly at seven months out right when booking opens for the day, you might get one of the other two two bedroom villas.

This.

You could try but don't be surprised if it doesn't happen. I'd have a back up plan in place.

Last year I was on the waitlist for the entire 7 months for a 2br w/2 queen beds for October and it never came through. The year before I got lucky right at 7 months for the 2br w/1 queen and the sofa.
Good luck!

I waitlisted for a 1 BR at BCV last year and it came thru, but here's what happened. I went on the waitlist at exactly 7 months out (less a couple hours because I accidently slept late). Then it came thru at the last minute, at almost exactly 31 days.

Yes, I'm talking about next year. I'm an early planner so I wanted to pose the question now so I can have a strategy in place, not that there's a strategy per se, just that it would help to have some feedback with those who've had experience with this. It'll be the first time that I'll be trying to book at a resort that's not my home with the exception of SSR which usually has availability.

We'll only need three nights so hopefully that increases my chances. We're not going to the parks since our main focus is the cruise. I just thought it would be nice to fly in a few days early to enjoy some down time as a family and BCV is a great place to do that.

Good to know, thank you so much for the tip.:)I'd take any 2 bedroom I can get, I can't afford to be choosy. I technically have a preference for one of the villas that has two queens in one of the bedrooms but again, with a 3 night stay I'm not going to quibble about it.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. Come March I'll be up before dawn so I can get my call in right when MS opens since I'm no the west coast. :coffee:

Good luck - you never know. I also think your chances for 3 nights are still very good.

My son booked SSR for 8 nights this October. He waitlisted BCV and BWV. I told him not to expected 8 nights to come through - I really did not think it would. He got BWVs about a month ago. He is super excited and is waitlisted again for BCV. He will be happy with BWV if it does not come through. We are staying at BCV (my home resort) - would have been nice but that's all good and close enough.
