Hello all,

What is the difference in between BCV and BWV as far as:

1) Distance walked to and from EPCOT
2) Views
3) Rooms

1) BCV is closer to Epcot but BWV is closer to Hollywood Studios.
2) BWV for us have the best views if you book the Boardwalk views. BCV from what I have heard have some nice views as well.
3) If you are comparing the DVC rooms they are pretty much the same...just different colors.

Hope this helps

There are some rooms at both BCV and BWV where you can see the higher Illuminations fireworks. BWV is a bit noiser and closer to the action. BCV is set behind BC, so it tends to be a bit quieter. BWV is further from the parking lot, but at BCV you can park pretty close to the villas.

If you are in the market for two bedroom villas, all the BWV two bedroom villas are lockoffs - there are no dedicated two bedroom villas there. BCV has dedicated two bedroom villas, some with two queen beds in the second bedroom, some with one queen and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom.

We just returned from a BWV/BCV vacation, and one important, to me, difference, is that the door to the balcony at BWV just had the handle latch, while the BCV also had a latch up higher. I think it makes BCV a safer choice for us when we bring our DGC.

The BWV rooms seem larger than the rooms at BCV.

One other significant difference when comparing BWV to BCV; at BCV you have access to Storm Along Bay.

I've got two little ones...

The connecting door to a lock-off is in the living room next to the TV at BWV allowing more noise to travel through. At BCV it is in the foyer.

The table at BCV is oval with a bench. This allows greater flexibility with seating. You can fit 3 littler ones on the bench (or two big ones).

I just find BCV to be a calmer resort then BWV. The location is tucked behind the BC and away from the Crescent Lake and main pool hubbub. Even the decor is calmer at BCV with muted coordinating tones. I find BWV's decor very busy.

Parking is also closer at BCV.

But at BWV you have Grandvillas, Boardwalk Views and standard points! ...and the view are generally better overall.

They may seem that way, but there is no significant difference in the room sizes at BWV and BCV (and VWL and SSR if that matters).

A li'l OT, but to my understanding, DVC membership allows us to use any pool at any resort with the exception of SAB, one has to be stayin' at BCV in order to use that pool.

Is this right?

You have it right, almost.

You can only use the pools at YC, BC and BCV if you are a guest at one of those resorts. DVC members cannot hop to any of the pools at YC, BC and BCV.

Also, DVC members cannot hop to the pools at AKV. And rumor has it that BLT is opting out of poolhopping as well.

One other caveat to Pool Hopping. It can be and is often suspended. Assume that if you go over major holidays you will not be allowed to pool hop.

We chose BWV over BCV when we bought because of the standard view option. It costs us fewer points per night to stay in a standard view 1BR villa at BWV than in a 1BR at BCV, and you need that 11-month home resort booking advantage in order to get the standard view rooms at BWV.

Of course the SAB pool was not a priority for us, but for many people that is what draws them to BCV instead. I also like that BWV is closer to DHS but you can still walk to Epcot from there. Love the idea of being able to walk to 2 theme parks and not worrying about parking or relying on WDW transportation on those days!! Especially when returning to Epcot after an afternoon break for a dinner ADR and not feeling as rushed!

For us, the resale at BWV also cost less money per point and we within our budget for purchasing DVC.

Hello all,

It is longer to BWV. I have found that it is not a big deal. There are distractions along the way (on the boardwalk) such as entertainment that I really enjoy. But, when I stay at BCV when we make that turn at the gate by the BC (instead of going over the bridge to BWV) I remember why I like BC so much. :)
Overall, I think BWV has better views. Though, I enjoy the peace and quiet of the woodland view and occasionally I can see Illuminations fireworks from the balcony at BCV.

3) Rooms
Thanks,

It depends on your room category as noted above. If you are staying in a studio, I don't notice any big differences.

Jeff,

In answer to your queston.

1) the distance walked to EPCOT is further from BWV.
2) the views are equally unique from from BCV and BWV
3) the rooms are similar

Let us not forget that at BWV you can potentially be in the room at the end of time and space! Hey someone has to get it and I've done my fair share of hikes down those halls - with each step I just say a word of thanks that my tired feet can make it. BCV is quite a bit smaller than BWV.

There are two banks of elevators at BCV and only one at BWV. So you may spend a little more time waiting at the elevator at BWV.

We had room 452 at BCV and it was the longest walk to a villa than we've ever experienced before.

we own at both, but prefer BWV for the views (BW view is breathtaking :cloud9: ), & quieter common areas (including lobby, pool areas, & hallways).

for many, the big draw at BCV is SAB........we live near beautiful beaches & have spent (way to much:headache: ) money on our yard/pool, so SAB is not as appealing (too crowded & noisy).
the parking lot at BCV is close: great for running to your car for a forgotten item, not so great for views (we find even standard view at BWVs beautiful). never had a prob with the oft quoted "long hallways", but we tend to walk a lot while at WDW, so maybe don't see the "complaint" :confused3 (fyi, we frequently use the stairwell closest to our room also ~ however, not a great option for those with strollers).

in all, both are gorgeous resorts with a great location. enjoy whichever you choose :)
