My husband and I are still debating DVC and trying to crunch numbers. We love the location of BCV and BWV, so we've narrowed our options down. We'd like to be able to stay at both. We understand the 11/7 month booking windows, but our question is this. Is it easier to own at BCV and sometimes book at BWV at 7 months, or is it easier to own at BWV and book BCV at 7 months? Obviously time of year and type of accomodation will make a difference (GV, standard view, etc.) but in general which do you think is easier to get at 7 months?

Thanks for helping us think this through.

BWV is larger than BCV so IMHO, it is usually easier to book at 7 months than BCV is. However, if you want a GV or a Boardwalk view or a standard view, you really need to own at the BWV. Those unit types are usually not available at 7 months.

BWV has no dedicated 2 bedroom units - all are lock offs (1 bedroom and a studio with a connecting internal door that can be unlocked to make the 2 bedroom). If a dedicated 2 bedroom is important to you, then you should choose BCV. Also, BCV guests can legally hop over to use the BWV pool, but that is not true in reverse. If use of SAB is important, than you'll want to own at BCV.

Thanks CarolMN! I appreciate the info. Does anyone else have experience trying to book either resort at 7 months and can tell me how easy/not easy it was? Or times of year you've tried? Thanks for any input!

We own at BCV and usually book at 11 months. We have switched to BWV BW View 3 times at 7 months so it has been pretty easy when we wanted it.

we own at both (& greatly prefer BWVs:) ). when booking less than 7 months, we've needed to waitlist BWV ~ BW view or standard view ~ while there was availability at BCVs as well as BWV pool/garden view (pretty much equal).

fyi, BWV has 3 room catagories:
~standard view which is a nice point savings over preferred
~preferred pool/garden ~ most rooms fall into this catagory
~the amazing (seriously) preferred BW view (same amt of points as pool/garden preferred), with a great view of much of illuminations from your balcony:cloud9:

BCVs has only one point catagory, which is the same cost as "preferred" at the BWV, but imho, no views to speak of (our BCV "EPCOT views" have been of treetops & road, with a small sliver of spaceship earth:confused3. ).

any room at either resort will be difficult during busy times (F&WF, holidays). saving with BWV standard view, or booking early to snag a breathtaking BW view are extremelly important reasons (for us, at least) to own at BWVs.

hth:)

My experience is that you can get BWV with less difficulty at 7 months or less than BCV. Several times Southwest has "made me an offer I couldn't refuse" a few months out and sometimes I've gotten BWV, but never BCV. And the only times my waitlisting hasn't come thru is the ones at BCV.
