Hi, we got back Sunday afternoon from a 5 night trip from BCV.
We had a wonderful time, we treated my brother and sister inlaw to the trip. They don't have children and thoroughly enjoyed ours!

We were in room 363 & 365 lockoff. At the desk she told me we would not be able to see the fireworks. (I never mentioned it again). Turns out we had a fantastic view of the fireworks! I was psyched.

Everything was great, our three children were all sick at one time or another including spending NY eve at the WDW oncall for dbl ear infec. But we made due and it did not hamper plans much at all.

I find it hard to complain when we were coming from NY and in FL it was 80 degrees and sunny every day. I guess I could comlain that I did not bring enough summer clothes! The weather was fantastic and we swam at SB every day for hours. Even the first day when we arrived at noon we just pulled out our bathing suits and trecked over till our rooms were ready (3:30).

We took advantage of extra magic hour 2 times and arrived when the parks opened another two days and this was fantastic. I was afraid it would still be busy but I will always do this from now on unless going at a slow time. We would leave by 12 or 1pm, ride everything we wanted to with short or virtually no line and go swim.

We did the hoopdedoo, which my kids love. Beaches and Cream a couple of times, good. I saw someone order a kitchen sink and they announced it to everyone. VERY cute.

We were able to use our refillable mugs from June so I am glad I brought them. Our room was clean. One funny thing was w/ trash and towel day they didn't empty our garbage so I called from the 1 br and when my husband was in the room they came and would not empty the studio garbage even though the door was not shut. They said we did not call from that room. We got a chuckle out of that. They did send someone later.

We did Fantasia golf a couple times, w/ our annual pass discount, now expired, boo hoo.

We also had dinner at Chef Mickey's on my son's 8th birthday. Then we did the wish's pontoon boat ride for $120.00. That was fantastic. The boat was very large and comfortable.

We rented a car from National for $215 for an 8 passenger minivan for 6 days. I have rented from Alamo and L&M w/out problems in the past. National happened to be way cheaper this time. Weird.

That's it. Any questions I will try to answer. :earsboy:

We miss Disney already. Oh, we also ate dinner at Emeril L. restaurant at city walk in Universal Studios the first night and it was great. Sorry Mickey!

Hi,

Glad you had a good time!!!! Sorry that people were sick though.

Glad you had a good time. We are going in 29 days. Can't wait.
We love B&C. Can you tell me a little more about Emeril's? Just DH and me this next trip so maybe we will try it. We are spending the first 2 nights at AKL Savannah view with the AP rate, then moving to BCV. Haven't stayed in a hotel at WDW since we joined DVC over 5 yrs. ago but could not pass up the AP rate and have heard some many good things about the AKL. Sorry about the kids being sick, our sons are both in 20's but I remember those days all too well.

Glad you had a nice time.

I think it is Murphy's Law?!? We can all be well even up to the day we are leaving and be commenting on how we're going to break our curse and then surprise! someon starst feeling sick on the car ride there. Sore throat, etc. We always hvae colds during our trips. Maybe the excitement and/or stress of getting ready to go?

Anyway, thansk for sharing!

For some reason that whole last hallway is not considered an Epcot or Fireworks view in the front desk computers. The first time I stayed there the front desk computer told me that he was putting me in a room that was not "officially" considered an Epcot / Fireworks view but he knew from personal experience that it had a great view of the fireworks.

My second son finished one of those little kitchen sinks by himself and then finished his strawberry milkshake to great applause.

Thanks for reporting. Wasn't the weather beautiful! We were there when you were there just up the hall 370/372. I can't wait to go back in the summer.

Nice report. Thanks. Can you provide some details about the pontoon boat ride? I only have a vague idea what it is.

Good morning,

We went to Emerril's rest. the 1st day we were there. If I had a choice I would say it is not really a child friendly rest. ( although there is a children's menu). I should say it is easier to enjoy such a neat atmosphere w/out kids. My bil is an E.L. fan & this is why we went. It is relatively fancy and a bit pricey. The food was delicious. Parking was very convenient and free w/ ressie. We were in and out of parking garage in a jiff. I would reccomend this place.

I can not believe your son ate the kitchen sink!! Didi you help? Kids are so funny.::yes::

That is very intersesting that those rooms are not fireworks view yet they are great! We were happy!

I made the ressie awhile ago. price included a driver which I tipped $20.00. He gave us a tour of the water and told us some stories. We drove past river country and told us stories about that. He used to work there and his parents had been w/ Disney for 20-30 years. I could have cake balloons for an additional $100. I decided wisely against this. He did bring us one balloon for my son. We had just eaten at Chef Mickey's and my two little ones fell asleep on the cruise. I believe you can sit up to ten comfortably. We watched the traveling light show in the water which was very cool. Then the fireworks and back to the Contemp.
Between dinner we actually snuck in a dip for the kids at the Cont. pool because we had an hour to kill. The pool was almost closing, I wasn't sure if this is allowed or not. It was fun. We brought a cooler of drinks on board.

I miss Disney!:earseek:

I am so glad you had a great time despite the various illnesses. Just hearing you report about the BC and SAB swimming everyday, made me really wish I was there. As you can see, I am also from NY and dealing with the very cold temperatures as of late. UGH!!

Again, thanks for the post and letting me dream a little. I love that place. Glad you were able to go and have a good time. :bounce:

So glad you had a wonderful time! I am so jealous of the fabulous weather you got. We leave tomorrow and the weather is looking like low 60's :( Only one day in the low 70's.

Hey! My wife and I returned Saturday (left by car Friday) from an eight night BCV stay - 461 (studio next to the stairwell). We must have been real close. I have to agree that the weather was spectacular - everyday a bit warmer than the day before. We also avoided the parks except early and late in the day. Unfortunately my sister who just turned 60 couldn't enjoy all the nights with us - she begged out of the Magic Kingdom fireworks and late parade on the 28th. We did not have any children with us, but as a result of experiencing Xmas crowds for the first time have decided to take son, DIL and grandchildren the week before Xmas in '05, not the week between Xmas and New Year's. I think it will be a more enjoyable experience for all, especially a then-to-be 13 year old boy (God, I'm getting old) and a 7 year old girl. We're relatively new owners, and their first trip to BCV will be this June (22 weeks actually, but who's counting!) Glad you had such an enjoyable experience. It's nice to read that some people are still escaping the "bad stuff."
