From March 13-18, stayed in a BCV dedicated 2-bedroom, room 242. This was our first stay at BCV, staying at OKW and BWV for our previous visits. This room overlooks the mysterious circular walkway as well as the road. Road noise was noticeable, but didn’t bother our sleeping. We checked in at 1:30pm, room wasn’t ready, so we went to Downtown Disney. Ate at the Earl of Sandwich, very good with decent prices. Called BCV at 3 pm and the room was ready. The condition of the room was pretty good, except for the dining table which had several big scrapes on top, down to the bare wood in about 5-6 places. The rest of the villa had wear marks here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. All kitchen utensils/cookware items were there, except no spatula. We swear, from several trips to OKW, that a spatula was suppose to be there. Wife called housekeeping to get a spatula (pancakes were in order for that morning). A non-english (we think) speaking man came to our room with a plastic mixing spoon. Wife says to him “This is a spatula?”, he says “Yes”, turns around and walks away. We make eggs and bacon instead.
We missed the big kitchen at OKW.
Went to go visit Mouse Surplus, got the directions off of Miceage (or Mouseplanet, can’t remember). What a cool place! Highly recommended for the Disney geek, and the person who likes to hunt at flea markets/antique stores. For those not in the know, Mouse Surplus resells used WDW and Disneyland items: show props, hotel furnishings, production equipment, souvenirs, etc. We picked up neat curtains used at Port Orleans, for $21. Also got a spatula for $1, Disney used, no less. Wife now wants to drive our truck down for our September trip. They sell this stuff on Ebay, but will cut you a deal if you shop in person.
We only went to one park this week, MK on Thursday (3/17). Of course, that’s the day it decided to rain, all day. We donned our ponchos and headed out, since we had a PS for Cindy’s breakfast. We were all very pleased with the breakfast. The food was excellent, and plenty of it. Our server was fantastic, he was also a fellow Hoosier, no less. Our daughters had a good time with all of the princesses. On account of the all-day rain (we think), the crowd at MK was very light that day. We walked on all of the attractions, with only a 15 minute wait for the Peter Pan ride. That made up for the ugly weather.
The other days we were there, we shopped (outlet malls!), swam at SAB, got a Kitchen Sink at B&C (yum!), toured some of the other resorts (AKL, WL, SSR), played mini-golf (Blizzard Beach), and visited family in the area. We encountered friendly cast members everywhere we went (except for that spatula guy).
