BCV - Too late for August reservation?

HELP! I've been on the waiting list to purchase at BCV forever (or so it seems). So...we went ahead and booked a "regular" vacation at disney for the end of this month.

I got THE CALL today. We got our points and they start this month. I would rather use the DVC but I already have booked and paid for our other trip.

So....if I were to cancel our current reservations. What are the chances that I could actually get a reservation at BCV this late? I'd need a studio from 8/18-8/24.

I haven't gotten my packet from disney yet (should come tomorrow) or else I could just call myself.

Can someone help me out? I don't want to cancel our trip unless I can get in to BCV and I want to mentally work it out.

It would be a real long shot if BCV were available for this month. But, you might find something at SSR or OKW. They are currently the largest DVC resorts and sometimes will have availability when none of the others do. But the only way to find out is to call DVC.

I was looking to add on a day at BCV on 8-22.....they
said everything was booked for weeks.

Call your guide to find out! Congratulations on getting the points!! We had to do a non-DVC points trip because we bought in the fall and DVC was all booked up for Halloween/F&W.

I tried to book between 8/21 and 8/25. No 1 bedrooms anywhere.

I booked a couple of weeks ago for 8/15-8/18. No studios anywhere but we were able to get a 1 bedroom at SS.

While I'd doubt that there was anything available, that wouldn't stop me from at least calling and asking. It can't hurt and then you'll know for sure. Good luck.

I made a last minute reservation yesterday for 8/28 checking out 9/2, said I would take anything they had either 2 studios or a 2 bedroom.

BCV, BWV, AKV - nothing

Wilderness had a couple of studios but not for all the nights we needed.

SSR - no problems getting in there for either room type

OKW - did have a 2 bedroom so we took that.

You never know until you call. Members make changes to their plans all the time. Just remember to be flexible.

Good advice... your guide has the ability to look up that kind of stuff. likely, though, time is too short. Good luck nonetheless.
