BCV to BC for a night?

We have 5 nights at BCV in a few weeks in a 1BR. We have 3 kids, 6, 4 and a 5 month old.
Nothing was available for the 6th night, so I got a club concierge room at BC. My wife is on the fence. This does save us a few bucks on the flight, but obviously that's more than offset by the cost of the room and an extra day/night at WDW. However, she is more concerned with the logistics of packing and moving for just one night, especially with the 11 am checkout and possibly no room until 4. She said she would have less concern if it was on the front end.

Anybody ever do this that can lend some advice? Are the club concierge rooms any easier to get into before 4? I know they'll hold our bags, etc.., just looking for something to help make our decision!

Did you ask MS if there was cash availability for a 1 BR for your single day? If there was, you probably would not need to change rooms, just check out / check in for the last day. Just a thought.

there is none. I am waitlisted for the room on points, the problem is it most likely won't come through at this point so we are realistically changing rooms--my wife's least favorite WDW activity.

IMO moving is disruptive and we wouldn't do it for just 1 night and we are adults with no kids in tow.

If you are going to move anyway, why not stay at a different DVC resort and save some money?

It's a pain - but we've done it between BC and BCV when our waitlist for one night over Christmas did not come through. Not ideal, but at least I felt like BCV to BC (and then back) was better than moving to an entirely different resort.

Moving to CL would be okay though - if your room is not ready, you could hang out in the lounge at least and have something to drink/eat, depending on your timing. Better than hanging out in the lobby of the BC!

Not one room in all of DVC available on points the night in question. It's pretty much either stay concierge (we definitely don't want to switch to another "regular" hotel room if not at BC), or not. We have to book flights.

Done it before. I would only and actually am doing it for the way in. Not the way out. You will probably be tired anyways, take the flight. As much as I am a Disney Freak and would live there if I could. I wouldn't stress with the kids and transfer. Done it won't do it again.:cool1:

It looks like the flights are going to dictate what we do as much as anything. Something happened overnight, and currently if we don't stay the extra night we'd be flying out at 7 a.m. (that means trudging 3 small kids through the dark to the airport at 5 a.m.) because the rest of the days options are absurdly expensive. If we DO keep the concierge room, the flights the next day are cheaper by nearly $100 a ticket....and even better, it's a 1:00 flight.

So an extra day at SAB instead of the cold northeast, an extra day of F&W, cheaper flights and better flight times? I think somebody is trying to tell me something!

The DVC discount on villa rooms are not very plentiful, do you have an annual pass that you could check for a passholder discount. Actually the club level rooms are probably less likely to be ready early as there are fewer of them. I personally do not think they are worth the extra expense.

Moving the last day won't be fun, but won't be horrible. My best tip is to try to stay organized and pre-pack the day before, leaving a small suitcase for your clean clothes you intend to wear. That way, you are not rushing to pack at the last minute. Best case scenario would be that you get a room early. The nice part about it will be that you don't have to rush that last day to pack much, as you've already done it the day before.

Shockingly (and lending fodder to the conspiracies about cash availability), I was able to get a cash 1BR with a DVC discount for 5 nights at BCV, less than a month out. During the week in question, there is nothing available with points at ANY DVC resort for more than 2 nights.

The last night is the only one not available on either points or cash, and the only BC room available is the club level. I would have just rented a regular room for the night if one had been available.

Also somewhat peculiar, there were "multiple studios" available for cash with a DVC discount for the first 5 nights as well, but nothing on points. I wonder if I didn't just get really lucky with a cancellation. BCV cash discounts for multiple consecutive nights during F&W? Seems odd, but I'm not complaining.

Our AP is expired, I think we're going to do the discounted PAP this year b/c we have a trip planned next October so it would cover both trips.

Thank you. I agree, basically we are going to treat the last night before we switch rooms as if we are going home. The last day we are going to just spend at SAB and around the lake, we'll make the best of it.
