Disney sells what makes them the most money. If the new resorts are sold out or slow to sell, they will sell other sold out resorts telling you that they got special permission just for you. As CCV sells out and Rivera isn't selling yet, I expect ROFR and the selling of sold out resorts to increase.

Thanks for all the good feedback! We obviously still have a lot to think about. If only they let you book 18 months out!

I'm not certain why 18 months would be better? BCV is not one of the worst to book when the window opens but for fall you want to do it as soon as it does. When the window opens people will book. It sounded like your vacation approval happens less than 12 months in advance so at 18 months you'd be even further behind the ball.

The fall/xmas studios go pretty fast, and the 2BR in December as well. Other than that it's not usually too bad to get at 7 months if you're on top of it. We like the 2BR lockoffs in the fall so the 11 month window is helpful, but for spring and summer it's usually open at 7mo.
