BCV Studio Fridge

Just thought I would post a follow-up to this thread I started and attach the response I received from Disney today. I'm glad to report that our small fridge was an "exception" and that the studios should have the "larger" size fridges that we are accustom to. 2nd paragraph first sentence takes a little to get through but I understand the intent.

Welcome Home Jim,

I can not thank you enough for your patience as I awaited a response from my Resort partners.

I received a response and welcome to share that happy to share with you that during the time of your visit, the Resort was short on refrigerators due to prolonged shipping and the fridge that was originally in your room was needed for another room. Unfortunately, as you later found, the smaller fridge was never replaced for the correct size prior to your check-in. The foreman assured us that the inventory is tracked and managed correctly to avoid these types of issues from happening, there just happened to be a supply chain issue when you were in-house. I have been assured by the Resort that things have since been corrected. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you again, Jim, for reaching out to us.
I do appreciate that you got a detailed response. However, my only question to them is why did they think that your room's fridge was needed in another room, leaving you with a smaller one? Why didn't they give that other room the smaller one? Or was it some "high mucky-muck" (as my grandmother used to say) in that other room, who couldn't be shorted?

I feel like that's a question that no one would know the answer to...... except maybe a bus driver? Just kidding! I would venture a guess that at some point the "correct" type of fridge had a malfunction and was replaced by whatever housekeeping/engineering came across in the inventory. New or first time guests to the BCV studios would have no reference point as to what to expect so what was there was acceptable. As I may have mentioned we were in the exact same studio 2 years prior so knew something was amiss. I also found it funny how the Engineering CM said that the smaller fridge was the new norm because the counters were built lower with the last renovation.

Your guess is as good as mine as to the real reason and think it is probably one that Disney couldn't answer.

I'm at BCV now, room 306 with a view of the quiet pool. I was surprised to find the mini fridge has a freezer like compartment. No door on it though.

Exactly what we have had over the years--bar the one year I mentioned ad nauseum previously which was replaced with the correct one. I have had some with freezer compartment doors and some without.
