Anyone been lately and seen the new matresses?? Are thye any good? Its my turn to sleep on one this time!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

We just returned from the BCV's and there hasn't been any replacement of sofa beds or mattresses yet. I asked a few CM's and no one even seemed to be aware they were going to be changed. I plan on calling MS to ask about it, the beds really are in horrible condition with the sofa beds being simply the worse.

A few other members said they had slept in the new sofa beds at the BW and said they were fantastic. Hope DVC takes care of the BCV's soon!

We just returned from our first stay at the BC. I do not think they replaced the sleep sofa matress. My daughter slept on it and said it was not too comfy. We stayed at the WL also. She said their mattress was better. Do you know if they changed the matress at the WL already? If not, are they planning on it? Thanks

I am still in my "thinking" process about DVC. If I would join, I would be letting my guests sleep in the bed while I used the sofa bed. Some were asking me, "Are you sure the sofa beds would be comfortable? You know how they sleep at other hotels." I always responded, "I'm sure the sofa beds meet Disney standards like everything else." Well, I guess I was wrong to make that statement? What are some of your comments about a 40 year old sleeping on a sofa bed? :confused3

We came back yesterday from Studio 1st Floor at BCV. The new couch/beds were in and were nice. The couch was neat and clean and you only have to pull a cord now to open the bed...all cushions and stuff fold magically into the bed itself.

It's bad though, that they have to supply directions on the bed, a whole page worth, about how to operate it...I thought that was the funny part!

I just got back from BWV Studio 5052 and it had a new sofa , and it was COMFY. It was my niece and I and she was complaining about the couch until she laid down on it and that changed her tune.

It was comfy and easy to open/close

We loved it

Yeah, but you know if they didn't sure enough some idiot would break it. Probably me, I'm very non-mechanical (sometimes to the point of idiocy). Hope my studio has the new sofa bed AND full instructions when I get there. :rotfl:

I don't know what the status is of the new sofa bed installation in WDW, but those that have gotten the new sofa beds have been raving so about how comfortable they are, we recently went out and bought a new sofa bed, making sure that it's the same kind as the new ones at WDW. DH sleeps on it sometimes (boy, can I snore!) and although he has a bad back and is way over 40 (over 50, too), he's fine. DS and DDIL were here and slept on it Labor Day Weekend and said it was so comfortable, they hated to go back home to their regular bed. DS is 6'4", and he liked the fact that it's about 8" longer than most sofa beds. I haven't slept on one a WDW yet, but I expect good things (and comfort).

Oh, that is great news. Thank you.

As an relatively unimportant side note, how would you describe the cover of the new couches?

Thanks so much to all those who replied it looks like I'll be OK in October when we go :cheer2: can't wit!!!!

Thanks for the update can't what to try.

Any news yet? It sounds like BW have got their new sofa beds.

We did not have a new sofa bed mattress at BCV. We were there 9/17 to 9/22. The king mattress was not a pillowtop although it was very comfortable. Maybe Mr. Disney was lucky or maybe the changes are only in the studios so far. Or perhaps it is floor by floor. :confused3

Thanks for the reply. What is a pillowtop?

Pillowtop mattresses have an extra cushion on top. Most nicer hotels are switching to them. All the monorail resorts at WDW have then now, not sure about the other deluxes. BCV is supposeded to get them.

We're just back from BCV and the sofa bed in our living room did not have a new mattress. We didn't open the one in the second bedroom but it was the same style.

Does anyone know if they are just replacing the mattresses or is it to be whole new units in the style of the sofa beds at OKW?
