We are staying in a 2br at BCV in Feb...I have asked for an EPCOT view...is this all I need to ask for? What are the best rooms and is the EPCOT view the best view. I have noticed comments about rooms with small balconies - how do I avoid those rooms?

Thanks :D ;) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :jester:

I think that the EPCOT view can be a mixed blessing. We were on the 5th floor and had a great view . Much of what we could see was not pretty, service road, ugly parking area behind Canada, cell phone tower. But we also could see the tops of most of World Showcase and watched Illuminations from our little balcony and could even faintly hear the music. We felt it was a trade off, but it might not be for everybody.

How much of the fireworks can be seen from BCV? Enough to make up for the rest of the 'ugly' view? I've seen posts that recommend going somewhere else in the BC/BW area to see the fireworks. OR...is it much better to just remain at EPCOT?

We have had both types of Epcot views and really preferred the one with the road because that view also has a view of the canel which has the alligator and turtles, my kids really enjoyed this. Our 2nd room was also an Epcot view and had a view of the woods/wetlands, this was a very quiet room, but my kids said they enjoyed looking at the alligator and turtles better.

As far as the balconies go, I don't think any of them are small. Most of them are average size ( I think 4 x 6). There are just some that are bigger if you are on an inside corner or some span accross the whole length of a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom instead of having 2 or 3 seperate balconies, but a majority of them are the average size. The 2nd floor seems to have the majority of the ones that span accross the length, but the view of illuminations is not as good from the 2nd floor, so you give and take.

The BEST view of Illuminations will always be inside EPCOT, standing around the World Showcase lagoon. If you are not inside the park, you will only be able to see the higher level fireworks. There may be a few rooms at the BCV that also have a view of the laser portion of the show, but to the best of my knowledge, none of them have a view of the globe.

IMHO, it is nice to have a view of fireworks from your balcony, but it is no substitute for seeing the show inside the park.

pstepka... It really depends on the room, I would say there are about a dozen rooms with really good views of the fireworks. You can see and hear pretty much everything but the ball of the world that opens up. We went to Epcot one of the nights on our last trip and watched from the area between Italy and the UK that goes out on to the water, which is an excellent spot. We actually preferred to watch them from our balcony then go over to Epcot. We would put the kids in their pjs, go sit out on the balcony with some popcorn and watch the fireworks and then put them to bed. That was the best vacation we have had yet!
