Do the glass doors to the rooms on the ground floor at BCV lock behind you?

Can you walk out of the door (is it a slider or french door?) and pull the door shut behind you and have it lock, or must you lock it and go out through the hallway?

Thanks!

Hi, Annie.
I have always wondered that also. Not only at BCV, but many places I hear people saying how nice it is "just to walk out". I have always wondered if guests are actually leaving their rooms unlocked.

The doors would be unlocked if you left, otherwise you could be locked out on your balcony by mistake! But, in answer to your question, the doors do not lock automatically, they all have dead bolts where you must be inside to lock them. I think that the reference to just walking out from your unit means that if you are poolside, you could just walk out to the pool, but your room would remain unlocked.

We had a BCV first floor pool view room over Thanksgiving. It actually was a canal view room (we couldn't quite see the pool!). We used the sneak out the patio feature a few times on our trip. We have a little one who naps and the hall door can make a bit of noise. So... one of us would quietly go out the Master Bedroom patio door for a walk or swim.

The door was a swing type patio door with a dead bolt to lock it. You could not get locked out, but you do need to remember which room is yours!!! LOL!!! I had a hard time one evening!!
