Just returned from our annual Disney vacation (May 27 - June 12). We stayed at BCV for the first time. We reserved at 11 months out and got all of our requests -- 2-bedroom dedicated, upper floor, Epcot view.

Of course the accommadations were great. And we had a great vacation. I just wanted to get some thoughts down on the room.

A few mechanical problems. Sink in the master bath wouldn't work--stopper wouldn't lift. It was broken two different times during our stay and they had to come up twice. The whirlpool bathtub also didn't work. We had them up almost everyday for the first 4-5 days. They thought they had fixed it the first time and didn't necessarily believe us after that. I finally called the manager and insisted the tub didn't work (if it turned on, it could last for 10 seconds or a few minutes. If you weren't in the bathtub, it might run for 5 minutes. What good is that?) Finally got it fixed. One of the reasons I love my vacation so much is the whirlpool tub. I don't have one at home.

Even though it was a dedicated, there were not two beds in the second bedroom. This was a disappointment since we have two teenagers and would have liked two beds -- one of the reasons I requested a dedicated.

The view out our window looked straight at the Epcot ball. To view the fireworks, you needed to turn toward your right and look out the end of the balcony. We were on the end, so nothing obstructed our view. Really was too buggy to sit out and watch fireworks. The light was on above us and attracted bugs well. It was also very dirty on the balcony. The last night we were there the fireworks started up again at 11.30 pm. We thought who would they do Illuminations for after the park closed? But while watching everything was in a different sequence. So I guess they were practicing. Yes, I know I said we didn't watch the fireworks on our balcony. But the last night, unexpected fireworks at 11.30 were quite a draw.

Last coment about the room. It was very noisy. We were on the end of the hall on the fifth floor, right above the garbage/mechanical area. We also were able to hear the buses and other traffic even though our balcony door was closed.

Analysis of our BCV stay--it was a lovely resort. I enjoyed the decorations, entry, and SAB. If we decided to stay again, I would request a quiet pool view.

My dh has said we are going back to Boardwalk next year. He likes the activity over there better.

We were also there while you were there, 6/8-6/12 and saw the surprise show Wed night. We were on the top floor on the end also except we were on the 4th floor. The 5th doesn't run the full length of the building. We were all the way down with an EPCOT/parking lot view in a 2BR so we had the last 3 balconies. We also didn't have the bug problem as the large lights that look as if they should shine up into the roof line weren't on so it that was nice too. I was worried when we got there and saw them. It was also quiet there as we were the last room and there is no elevator so there was only 1 other family as far down as us and they were across the hall and had no toilets flushing above us:D . The master bedroom was the one on the end so I didn't even have people beside me flushing toilets. Other than the long walk being the last room, I enjoyed the room. Only "problem" we had was the fridge door didn't shut easily, had to PUSH it to and the lock on the MBR didn't work. We threatened the kids lives:D and didn't have any unwanted entries.

I have been there a few time when fireworks went off after midnight (I was on the Boardwalk) and the CM had said they do their practicing at night. Which only makes sense :-)

You stayed just above where we stayed - #461 studio. I had the same opinion with the noise from below. I found the road annoying. I saw the full view, however, from Spaceship Earth over to France. Very nice.
