Beach Club Villas experts: We are staying at BCV in March. It is my husband, me, and our kids aged 12, 14 and 16 in a dedicated 2 BR. I usually like to put down some kind of room area request (thank goodness I did for AKL savannah!). I have no idea what to request at BCV. I have read about rooms overlooking the service road--yuck! We probably won't be in our room during Illuminations, but who knows. Thanks for any assistance!

I have just booked BCV today - for August. I requested a pool view which apparently had a code. I originally asked for a water view, which is what I requested in 2007, but he said that wa snot a category. I was warned, however, that th epool viewe would not be of Stormalong Bay! I had to laugh - but I suppose some people might not know the resort.

I requested 3rd floor or higher, pool view. We had a 1 BR and a dedicated 2 BR (all BCV 2 BRs are dedicated, I think -- wait til you see it, it was huge!). We got pool view both times on the 3rd floor -- rooms 372 and 334, respectively. Anywhere on that floor/side of the villas should be a pretty nice view. I wouldn't request a room number, of course, but I would just say pool view if that's what you want, and first floor or higher than first floor, depending on what you're looking for.

thanks! I used to live in Westminster, Maryland. I miss the convenient Southwest flights from BWI! The quiet pool view looks great.

Our usual preference at BCV is top floor, away from the elevator. Its quieter.

There really aren't any spectacular views at BCV.
My preference is the pool view, upper floors, but I've had just about all of them at one time or another.
Alot might depend on whether or not you have a car, if you do the higher room numbers are closer to the self parking lot which is nice if you'll be using the car alot, If not then the lower numbers are closer to the main Beach Club Lobby and hence the bus stops. I find being closer to one of the elevators a plus also, the corridors can seem like a mile long at times.

Same here. Since I don't have a car, I ask for something as close to the main building as possible on a high floor, near the elevator.

I booked today and asked for a "lower number -- 02 through 50 -- room" any floor. I don't really care where we are except I don't want a view of the road with the buses pulling through.

That said, I have no idea if my request made any sense. I guess we'll see, and the rest of the resort will make up for the buses if I get one of those rooms.

Having never stayed at BC, I have a question about the corridors. Are they inside or out? We own at SSR and the coridors are outside but I wouldn't consider them long. How big is BCV compared to a building at SSR, if you know, or compared to one of the other resorts? We're staying at BCV in May, and like the original OP, we're looking for tips on the best area to stay in.

Thank you.

BC is more like a hotel......hallways are inside. And yes we have some stays coming up at BC and also interested in hints!!!! We have only done a few walk thrus while staying at BW and have not stayed there yet.

Well I had the "yuck" room overlooking the service road.

Standing on my balcony looking directly ahead I could see the high fireworks from Illuminations. And at the same time if I looked off to the left I could watch Wishes. Not "yuck" at all IMHO

I once heard a person in the lobby of the Beach Club very hysterical because she didn't have an "Ocean View".:confused3 She claimed her TA told her you could see the waves in the ocean. I just wondered if she had ever seen a MAP!!!!!

She must have just come off her Disney cruise and was a bit confusicated! :lmao:

BCV is like all DVC resorts with inside hallways. In order to keep construction costs down, long hallways are the standard. After walking miles in the parks, what's another 1/4 mile?

I my opinion the views aren't the greatest at BCV.
Quiet Pool with drainage canal and parking lot as a backdrop.
Epcot, view obstructed by trees with road below.
Courtyard, might be a grassy courtyard with a view of the valet drop off area, or a wetlands area with trees.

The lobby area, closeness to Epcot and DHS, available restaurants, and Storm-a-long bay are the reasons to choose BCV.

The hallways at SSR are outside, which I actually liked. And looking at the BCV map and pictures posted on this site, I guess there isn't a "great" view but I haven't seen an awful yet. The draw for us is the pool and closeness to Epcot and friends staying at BWV.
