What little things should I know?
If you have the option would you take a third floor room over a first floor room when we check in?
Does the ME bus go to a bunch of other resorts before the BCV?
Thanks
Chris

DH and I stayed at BCV last month and loved it! Say hi to Art for us!
Visit Stormalong Bay.
Enjoy the quick walk to the International Gateway and to the Boardwalk.
Enjoy the longer walk to MGM and take the boat back.
Only there for 5 days and got in as much park time without the kids with us so didn't spend much time at the resort.
Praying our waitlist comes through for Dec at either BCV or BWV!

We were just there on our first stay. LOVED it!

The ME bus did make a couple of stops before BC.

Check out what's going on in the lobby. Sometimes Lilo & Stitch were there playing games & another time staff were making & giving away towel animals. There are fun activities at the pool, which are listed on a schedule in your Welcome Home packet.

As far as the floor goes, I can understand why some people request the first floor - no waiting for the elevator, and some request the top floor - nobody overhead, but I'm at a loss when it comes to a preference for the 3rd floor at BCV. But if that's what you want, don't just wait until you check-in; put your request on your reservation now.

There is no set route for the ME busses so you may not, or (more likely) may stop at another resort before getting to BCV. It just depends on who is going where when you get to the ME counter.

As far as other little things to know about the BC, you should find a lot of good information right here on DIS. Just do a search on BCV.

You need to know about the gelato in the Marketplace. It's the best. You can try a new flavor everyday of your visit.

:thumbsup2 I'll second that, I took my gelatos to a the quiet pool area and found a nice bench that looked out on the canal and just enjoyed the silence and warm sun:goodvibes

Just got back from 10 days at BCV.
Allow plenty of pool time in your schedule - it's a vacation all by itself. You might want to buy pool noodles at your local dollar store and bring them with you - we always bring them and we had many people asking us where we got them. You can rent the big tubes for floating at Poolside Gifts, but they didn't have noodles. We usually just give them away on the last day and buy new ones next trip.
We've had both first floor and third floor rooms - I don't really have a preference.
We didn't know that you can check in in the Villas now, you don't have to do it at the main checkin.
For shopping, the Beach Club Marketplace has more food and the Yacht Club store has more clothing and other stuff.
Lilo and Stitch were playing games in the lobby from 12:30 TO 3:30 every afternoon.
Have a great time!

Be sure to have burgers at Beaches & Cream!

When walking to Epcot, find the sidewalk that cuts behind the hotel building. It's a pretty walk back there and saves time over going through the lobby.

Look for Art the Greeter as you enter the lobby. He's quite an institution at the Beach Club! :thumbsup2

Have a great time! You'll love BCV. :yay:

Oh, I wanted to add that on the 2 trips when I've used ME, BCV was the 3rd of 4 stops.

Great info thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2
Did you guys make room requests?
What are the SAB pool hours?
I haven't, don't know enough that I should? Any recommendations?
Thanks
Chris

Could I ask why you don't think the 3rd floor a good choice? Which floor would you ask for then? We will be staying there for the first time next year and wherever we stay we always ask for the top floor, having had a few hotel stays with herds of elephants on the floor above!!

Do some of you actually request a particular room?

Just FYI re: the first floor

Last trip in April we had two BCV rooms, one for us, one for my sister's family. When we checked in they told us we could get first floor and the rooms were just two doors down from one another, and one was ready. We took them because we wanted to be near each other and we wanted to get into a room early, but I wasn't too convinced about the first floor. Let me tell you, we all loved it. It's true you have a patio instead of a balcony, but we liked it. Our kids went outside in the morning for breakfast and there was more outside space than the balcony. As far as noise from above, we've had rooms on just about every floor at BCV and have never had a noise problem from people above.

We try not to get too worked up over requesting certain views anyway, so without preconceived notions of what is good or not good, we've liked all our rooms. I suppose some folks like the fireworks view and all that, but frankly, we're never in the room early enough to worry about it. Even when DD was 2 or 3 we never rushed home to get her to bed, so it was never important to us.

Keep an open mind. The whole resort is beautiful and you will love it. The room is just one part of a BCV stay! My only tip is to plan some downtime for using the pool area, it really is fantastic.

You can really check in in the Villas now? When did this start? And is this all the time, or is this just a seasonal thing?

We checked in on the 18th and were able to check in at a small desk in the Villa's. It was real quick.

We were on the 5th floor and really enjoyed our 2BR, we even had 3 balconies.

Thanks! Very helpful.

Just realised there are 5 floors!!!

Whaaaaatt??? When did this start??

We just spent 6 nights at BCV (July 29 - Aug. 4)this summer & we never saw this!!
DS & DD would have loved it!!

**For the OP....I recommend bringing your own swim tubes if you have any.
We brought our own 36 inch swim tubes from Target & used them every day.
We saw several families with their own also. There is a poolside gift shop, but the $3.14 cent ones from Target are much cheaper :thumbsup2 .
On our checkout day....we left them with some friends of ours who were also staying at BCV & had 4 more days left.

I WISH I had known that squirt guns are allowed in SAB!!!
When we got there, that's the first thing DS noticed...and of course, we had at least 6 or 7 Super Soakers back home in our garage (2 are even new....not out of the box yet!!!) They sell about 4 different kinds in the poolside gift shop, so then, we had to buy 2....one for DS & one for DH!!

Their is a salon there if you want to get your nails done...we walked in on our check-in day & made an appt. for DD12 to get a manicure later in the week.

BTW, we stayed on the 1st floor (Room #106) & loved it!
We never heard our neighbors upstairs.

Thanks for all the help guys! More rookie questions.
What were the hours at SAB?
Is the stuff at the poolside store so expensive it is worth bringing my own? I don't know bringing a water noodle will go over with airport security, and passenders on the plane.;)
Anything else out there?
Chris

Well, the water guns that we bought weren't more expensive than home...they were about the same price as Target. I was just mad at myself because I had to buy two (DH and DS), knowing that I had a half-dozen at home & two of those were new (still in their boxes).

I bought one squirt gun that was about $12.00 & the other was the most expensive at $18.00 or $20.00.

I don't think they have noodles at Poolside Gifts, so if you want one you'll need to bring your own. When we were there earlier this month, we were meeting friends at BCV for the week, & they actually did pack a noodle in their luggage (they flew)!! They used it all week. They said they folded it several times in their suitcase.
