BCV road noise - how bad is it?

We are staying in two 2-bedroom units at BCV (there are 8 of us including my 75-year-old parents). We have requested NS, 5th floor Epcot view and that our villas are near each other. I've been reading about the noisy road that comes with an Epcot view and was wondering how noisy is it? I think my folks will be spending a fair amount of time on their balcony - should I be concerned? I know people have suggested quiet pool view but in my experience on vacation, pool and quiet don't usually go together. Are there any other views to consider if we want a quieter stay? Thanks much for your input!

We stayed in a 5th floor dedicated two bedroom in early July. I never noticed any road noise at all. We did hear the fireworks when we were in the room- and could even see some of them. We just considered this an extra bonus. Hope that you have a great time!

Second floor on the end, practically sitting on the road and we never heard anything. :)

4th floor facing road, rarely any vehicles and very little noise.

I would call it background noise while in the villa. A little louder on the deck.

You know there aren't that many 2brs on the 5th floor facing Epcot do you? Just mentioning this as what are the chances that 2 2brs will be open on the day you check in - could be slim.

With the balcony doors closed, you won't hear anything inside except a bit of fireworks. Sitting on the balcony, people don't really expect total silence anyway. You'll be fine unless you happen to hit a location near the road and insist on sleeping with the balcony doors open.

We had a third floor room facing Epcot once, could see some of the Illuminations fireworks. The road noise didn't bother us at all.
Good luck!

We were on the 4th floor this past March, also on the end & never heard the road noise. Have a great time!

The road doesn't bother us at all and we have had a room right on top of it.

As far as other views go, there is a nice quiet woods view.

We had a woods view last year. It was wonderfully quiet and very beautiful.

2 bd room on 1st floor at the bridge with the Alligator and Turtles with a 4 year old in October.

No problem at all.

Enjoy your trip.

Great, I mean G R E A T point!!! People are getting so specific about thier requests, and then getting bent out of shape when they don't get them. My advice is to count on NOT getting this request, and then be pleasantly surprised if you do get it.

Does anyone think people are requesting the bottom floors near the road, 2nd floor, near the walkway, or facing the BC? Views are not a benefit of BCVs, face it folks. If you need a view, go for BWV. My $0.02. Have a great vacation.

Gosh, I had no idea there would be so few 2 bedroom units near each other - have no experience with BCV. Perhaps I should delete that request. I guess we'll just hope for the best and be pleasantly surprised if we end up on the same floor! My main concern is that my parents who are celebrating their 75th birthdays will be comfortable and I just wanted to find out how much road noise there is. Thanks for your input and good wishes.

This is the second time in a week that I have agreed with you and I'm getting concerned for my own well being.;)

This point makes one wonder if they will do away with specific requests altogether due the frustration it is causing with members(with the exception of medical and smoking/no smoking, or maybe even the old argument Nick used to make that smoking will be done away with altogether so that won't need to be a request either).

Have a great trip. Keep the request. You never know.

We stayed last year facing epcot, very little road noise I would rather face epcot than the pool, it tends to be noisy, but either way enjoy your on vacation:Pinkbounc

I am in the minority but we hated it! I do live on a dead end street and am not used to any road noise. Plus. on all our vacations we have not been near a road so this was much different for us.

The biggest porblem we had was first being on the first floor. Hated it! Moved the next day to the top floor.

Nice view of the fireworks and love Illuminations. We faced the back of the land so the view was of trucks and the back of the building (not exactly a kodak moment ;))

The worst part for me was the early moening deliveries to the Land. As the trucks would back up, the beeping would wake me up. Grr!

We will not stay at the BCV again. Not my favorite resort and we own 220 points there. Fortunately, we travel in the off season, so the booking window is not critical for us.
