Here now. 5th floor appears done and occupied. Housekeeping let me in to see a room today. Looks like new carpet, paint and murphy bed. Not major but seems brighter. Walked through 4th floor and saw no activity at all. Not sure if that's because it is Sunday or possibly they are done that floor.

I'm very curious too, glad to hear the 5th floor is done, that is my favorite.

So you were able to get onto the 4th floor? It was closed of for construction just a week ago.

Did you notice if the BCV villa hot tub is open? When we went in October, it was closed the entire week and was so disappointed.

ok thanks! Also, I just saw pictures of the retrofit. Can someone explain the difference between a Murphy bed and a sofa bed, what is so great about a Murphy bed? And were they added in the studios or 1 bedrooms. I mean, we pulled out the sofa bed, you pull down a Murphy bed, then collapse it in the morning to use as a sofa, right?

Murphy bed has about a 10 inch mattress on it versus the awful 4 inch ones in the sofas that fold up.

We're going in three weeks. Any one have info on the progress of the room soft goods redo? Thanks
Just read in another thread that the 4th and 5th floors appear to be completely done and no construction started on any other floors. So if you want a refurbed room, ask for 4th or 5th floor on your room requests and cross your fingers. :)

Just spent a week in a BCV refurbished room, hoping the delay in the refurb was because they were not happy with the workmanship of the contractors! A lot of cheap fixtures (shower heads), and outlets that didnt work (cabinet below tv and on side of the murphy bed)... Refurb looked like a true mickey mouse job

This is the first report I’ve seen of shoddy work (edited to add - shoddy work at BCV; most reports I’ve read have been glowing) - hope you reported it to DVC Member Satisfaction.

IKR? I thought Poly and BR both were amazing.

Grandma was not impressed with VGF2, she peeled off painter's tape. But that was days after open.

This was only a soft goods refurbishment. The things you mentioned were not refurbished. We stayed in one a couple of weeks ago. New Murphy bed, new Keurig, new drapes, carpet, reupholstered chairs and a new queen bed and frame. Nightstand, undrt tv bedtable, bathrooms, kitchens were not refurbed.

We were in BCV 477, a dedicated two bedroom unit, from May 7 through May 14. The only "shoddy" workmanship we saw was a piece of floor moulding in the secondary bedroom that worked loose when we rolled over it with a suitcase. That was easily snapped back into place.

My only complaint is that the water didn't get hot very fast. It took about four minutes to reach full temperature. That may be because 477 is at the very end of the hall.
