BCV Reno Update?

Wondering if anyone has any information about where Beach Club Villas are falling in the renovation timeline? I dug around to see if this is possible tomorrow but didn't have any luck finding that information... Lots about the timeline for the pool and the water slide but not so much with villas...

Any insight would be appreciated!

The BCV refurb is scheduled to begin in March. No word on how long it will take to complete. When Disney performed a similar refurb at Wilderness Lodge last year, it only took about 6 weeks from start to finish.

BCV has about twice as many rooms as VWL so it could take longer...or they could use a larger team of workers and complete in equal or less time. Unfortunately no concrete info on the timeline.

We are staying on a two bedroom villas towards end of April anymodeas how bad noise will be due to renovations and suggestions on area to request to limit disruption?

The only configuration change will be adding the dropdown bed under the TV. They will not be changing the bathroom configurations to be the same as GF or Poly.

Thanks...I thought I read somewhere that the pullout sofa in the Poly will be a queen? Will this be the same for the BCV?

Highly doubt it. The did not change the size of the sleep sofa at the VWL when they added the pull down bed to those studios.

I do not think there would be room to put a queen sleep sofa in place of the double.

The Poly DVC studios are larger than those at the BCV.

Well, I'm here now and so far no one knows anything specific on the renos. But I can see my studio and everywhere REALLY needs it! Besides dents and dings, my wall unit (whatever it's for, I forget) is almost falling off the wall. And although some floors may have new carpet, floor 2 doesn't. Still the old, dingy carpet.

Agree. Assuming the floorplans DVC published are accurate, there really isn't room for a wider sofa bed. Even though a queen is only about 8" bigger than a full. Starting at the balcony door, you've got an end table, sofa, nightstand and the queen bed all lined up with very little space in between, then a narrow walkway to access the wall side of the bed.

Also, as long as the sofa bed frames are structurally sound, money can be saved by replacing the mattress and upholstery during refurb.

STRANGE that no one would know anything about a planned renovation? ENJOY your trip!

This morning I took the elevator up tothe fifth floor and stopped at every floor on the way down, got out and looked up and down the hall. All I saw was the same old dingy carpet. And on the first floor I asked the CM at the BCV check in desk and she didn't know of any rehab plans.

And why do you expect work to have started when the rehab does not reportedly begin until March?
