Valet Parking at the Walt Disney World Resort
Valet parking is complimentary at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and Disney's Beach Club Resort. Just show your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card. Complimentary valet parking is not available at other valet parking operations or for Theme Park access.
You'll be charged the daily fee of $10.00 for this service at any other valet parking operation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Once you've paid for the valet service, you'll receive unlimited valet parking for the remainder of the day. Whether or not you are charged to valet park, gratuities are still appropriate. There will be no charge for Guests with disabilities who have the proper permits.
Did you tell them you were going to the Yachtsman's. Shouldn't have made any difference but maybe they thought since you were not dining at the Beach Club.
Did you try to valet at the Yacht Club? It's just free at the Beach Club.
Do you have a DDE card? DDE card holders get free valet parking at any WDW resort when dining there. I know it's too late now but thought I would mention it for next time, or for anyone else reading this thread.Yes! This is what we did wrong.....thanks. (To me, they are kind of all the same resort, but not to WDW...)

Perhaps the new outside agency valet's have arrived at the Beach Club and some of their employees are not familiar with the DVC rules in regards to valet parking.
We were at the BCV's in January and talked to many long time valet's and bellmen and all were leaving the resort, some where getting other jobs inside Disney, some were simply moving on.
It's a huge mistakes on Disney's part, imo, to outsource these positions. It is the first person most people see upon arrival and if they don't have Disney training it can impact a guests first impression of the resort and company. Also, they are allowing an outsourced agencies employees to have access to guest rooms via pass keys. I just hope the agency handling this has done thorough background checks and that all the new people on property are legal.....AND they don't have criminal backgrounds.
Something to ponder.

The valet captain was still wrong if he said it was free to guests staying at the resort.jodifla said:We tried to use our DVC card for free valet, but the valet captain said it was only free if were were staying at the resort.
We tried to valet once at BWV while we were at Fort Wilderness...
The valet politely explained the rules when we tried.. He recognized us from our many previous trips though, and parked the car anyways..![]()
The $5 I tipped him couldn't have hurt either..![]()
I agree that the outsourcing is something that should always be carefully considered, but there is absolutely no reason to suppose that an outside contractor would give any less than Disney standards. For instance, Mears does a fantastic job of representing Disney for the DME - I've see no difference in quality between a DME (Mears) driver and a Disney bus driver (well, except for fewer wild rumors being traded by the Mears drivers!).It's a huge mistakes on Disney's part, imo, to outsource these positions. If the contractor couldn't provide what Disney expected, they wouldn't get the job.
Erroneous facts aside, how do you know Disney employees don't have criminal backgrounds? And even if they don't, so what? After all, the character CM arrested on child-porn charges was clean as a whistle legally before the arrest. . .
