BCV Pool

Just wondering if anyone can fill me in on the pool at the BCV. We were told it was a sand bottom pool. Is the entire pool sand bottom, or just a portion?

The quite pool at BCV is just a standard pool. The main BC resort pool, Stormalong Bay,aka SAB, is like a mini water park. That pool is sand bottomed. If you are staying at BCV you have access to SAB.

There's an area of zero slope entry that has a sand bottom an is pretty large. The sand is cool too in that it's about the consistency of a snow cone . . . like tiny pebbles so it doesn't stick to you like normal sand. Then there's the other portion that's deeper and has a small lazy river thing. It is an awesome pool. I've often wondered why they haven't done that at the other properties, but then maybe maintainance is a problem. Great pool. Unbelievable actually!

I don't recall a portion of the pool that wasn't sand bottomed. Maybe the lazy river portion but my feet weren't actually on the bottom so I don't know for sure.

That's where there was no sand . . . the deeper portion. It's been a few years since we stayed there so maybe it's changed, but at that time that was sandless except for the stuff dragged in by the feet of those in the sandy area.

Hey all.

We just got back from BCV and spent lots of time at SAB. The pool was recently reopened after being refurbished and there was sand in all areas of the pool, including the lazy river portion.

Of course there were areas where the sand was "washed" away, such as the area going up to the two spas - there are stairs in this area and I could imagine sand being a hazard. The only other area where there was definitely no sand was the whirlpool area - an area of the pool near the bottom of the slide that had water "spinning" or "whirling" - it's a lot of fun!!

The rest of the pools were sandy bottomed.

The quiet pool and spa is definitely a normal, concrete pool.
