Hi,

I am planning to stay @ WDW for the night before our 4 day cruise in May 2005. Does BCV have a cruise line desk? What do I do about 2 tickets for that night?? It would be a Saturday. Would it be better to stay @ DVC or other resort if it's just one night? Thanks for the input & help!! I hope this makes sense!!

I think that depends upon what you are looking for. Are you planning on doing the parks, or just laying back and relaxing. What time do you get it? I really enjoyed our one night stay at POR before one of our cruises (this was before I joined DVC) We didn't do the parks, and it was a little too cold to swim. If I were going in May, I would probably pick BCV and plan on eating at one of the many restaurants around the Boardwalk-BCV area, and swim at SAB. There is a cruise desk near the check-in area at BCV.

Hi,

Thanks for replying!!! I was thinking about maybe seeing fantasmic or illimations that night & having a nice dinner and then breakfast somewhere. What do you think? Nothing major like rides.

Thanks,

Hi, Allison. I would stay at BCV over POR. The only criteria I used for my opinion, is which resort I like better.
I really have no clue about tickets, or cruise line desks... :confused:

Good luck! :cool:

There is definitely a cruise line desk at BC/BCV. It is located in the hallway when you are walking out of the main lobby toward BCV, before you get to the entrance to the gift shop. I guess, technically, this is still the BC, but I would think any guests of the BC/BCV would be welcome.

Hi Allison...just a few things:

We've done three cruises total and two of which included a stay at WDW pre-cruise. I'm guessing you chose DCL transfers and that is why you are asking about the desk. The first time we used the transfers from WDW we stayed at the Dolphin. Just a warning...if you are counting on Palo or Spa reservations on specific days or times (or at all for that matter), just keep in mind that the bus transportation gets to port later than you are actually able to board the ship. The pickup schedule is:

Grand Floridian = 11:15
Contemporary = 11:30
Beach Club = 11:45
Swan = Noon
Dolphin = 12:30
Wilderness Lodge = 11:30
Boardwalk = 11:30
Port Orleans = 11:30
Polynesian = noon
Dixie Landings = 12:15
Caribbean Beach = 12:45

On our first cruise like this, they picked us up at the Dolphin at 12:30, but we made a 'pit stop' at AK to pick up more cruisers who spent their morning at AK. We didn't get to Port and checked in until almost 2pm. We missed embarkation luncheon. :(

This means that you will not get to port and checked in until at least 1:00. Boarding usually begins right before noon (no matter what they say in their literature). This means that people who got there sooner were able to get prime times for Spa and Palo, leaving you either with non-ideal times or no reservations at all.

Because of this, our last cruise we stayed at BWV, but hired Happy Limo so that we could get to Port by 10:30 when it opened and be one of the first 100 in line to board the ship.

Again, I'm not sure if this is important to you, but I just wanted you to be aware in case you've never cruised before.

Melody,

Thanks for the info!!!! I was asking about the desk because we like to check in with DCL @ the resort instead of the actually port desk. It seems to quicker, that way when we arrive @ PC (cruise) we can just get right on board the ship. :) Yes, we love Palo's & the Spa!!! We will also have our own car! So that helps. Thanks!! Have fun on your cruise. Hope to try a 7 day sometime!

Melody,

Because I'm in a wheelchair having our own van is a must when possible!!! And we are only about 9.5 hours from WDW.
