:) DW and I have decided to rent some points and stay at either the Beach Club Villas or Boardwalk Villas. We would be looking at a Studio. Having mostly stayed in the Moderates, we thought this would be a good way to check out the luxury hotels.

Now we need your help to decide which resort to choose.

I have always been of the opinion that when posters on the DIS ask about a resort I've stayed in, that I wouldn't force my opinion about that resort on them but tell them what I liked or disliked about it.

So, please fire away and let me know what you like or dislike about either the BCV or BWV.

Thanks :)

If its just the two of you, I would probably opt for the BWV. There's so much more there in the way of entertainment, including things kids would be doing, like the piano bar.

I have stayed at both.

BCV - you have access to SALB - the big pool between bc/yc.

that is big selling point to me.

you can easily walk to the BW area from BCV maybe 10 minutes.

It is easiler to walk to EPcot from BCV than to ride the boat. It is that close!!!
you just go through BC turn left and you are almost there.

I liked the gym at BWV better than BCV (it used the old gym between BC/YC). but again that is personal taste.

now if you are renting points and your renter can get you a standard room - then I would go with BWV - there is no need to pay $120 (12 points * $10) when you can go with $90 (9 points * $10).

standard views are hard to get and take extra planning.

If you are a pool person then SAB is the better pool, and only available to BC and YC guests. Otherwise, BW is a great place. A little farther walk to Epcot, but a closer walk to MGM.

You should check out the DVC Boards here at the DIS. There is a lot of info on both.

We have only stayed at BCV, though we will be staying at BWV the end of the month! :cool1: Yeah! :cool1: So for now, I can only comment on BCV! But, we love BCV!  (1) proximity to Epcot :Pinkbounc (2) B&C :Pinkbounc (3) SAB :Pinkbounc (4) Cape May character bkfst or dinner :Pinkbounc (5) Atmosphere in general!! :Pinkbounc I'm sure though, you will enjoy whichever you decide upon! Happy planning! :bounce:

If you want a spectacular view, book a boardwalk view at BWV (only available with DVC points).

BCV, No question. We have stayed there three times (DVC members there), and at the YC concierge once. Stormalong Bay is a huge reason. The pool at the BW with the roller coaster slide is cute, but compared to SAB it is tiny. Also, the YC/BC has some good restaurants, and we love Beaches & Cream.

The boardwalk is fun. We always walk over to Jellyrolls and the boardwalk on each trip, so it is really close. Given the entertainment options at the Boardwalk, it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends. It can be noisy, too. I like being at the BCV because I can go over to the BW, enjoy the fun and leave.

DS13 & I are staying 6nights at BCV (after 8nights VWL) in August.
First time at an EpCot resort. It was Stormalong Bay that was the deciding factor. We can poolhop to Luna Park from BCV but not to SAB from BW. It will be hot in Aug and we're planning on lots of pool time.

We own at BWV, but wanted to try out BCV several weeks ago. Since it was going to be so hot, we figured it would be a good time to try SAB. BCV were okay. I prefer BWV though. My dd, almost 12, said she likes the pool at BWV better also. The slide at SAB is fun, but she said that was the only thing she preferred, saying the slide at Luna Park was almost as good. I'm going again in late Nov and when I got home from our trip 2 weeks ago, I got on the phone to see if I could change my reservation from BCV to BWV. Just a personnal preferance. I liked the food choices at BWV better. But the new Marketplace at BCV is a great addition. That would be nice to have at BWV. But we waited forever to get something to eat at BCV....hard to just grab something other than at the Marketplace. Hurricane Hannahs was hugely crowded and the wait just for a bowl of ice cream at Beaches and Cream was 20 minutes. Overall, we found BCV to be fine but like BWV better.

:) Thank you allo for your great input. Since it is just going to be DW and me we have decided on the BWV. The pool isn't really an issue (although I agree with you all that SAB is great...did it back in the days of legal pool hopping!!). Being able to walk to both EPCOT and MGM plus the nightime options better suit us at the BWV.

Thanks again
Steve :)
