BCV Opening in Spring 2002!?!?!!!!!

I wanted to know if anyone else was at the OKW DVC meeting and heard the announcement that BCV would be opening in the spring, 2002. Towncrier reported in his post that this was announced, but he wasn't 100% sure if he heard that news correctly. So, I'm looking for confirmation.

This is certainly very exciting news if it is true. I know it could alter our 2002 vacation plans. Anyone?????? Further Comments??????

We were at the Beach Club on Sunday checking things out. The sales lady at the DVC desk still was saying that opening was scheduled for September 2002. However, she also said she wasn't a guide (not sure what she was) and that we should talk to our guide for more info.

Spent some time walking around the grounds and taking pictures. Looks like lots of progress has been made. I was wondering why it was going to take 10 more months to finish. About 1/2 of the outer walls are painted and detail work is being done. Electricity was on in many rooms. Landscaping was being done. There were construction guys working on Sunday. Maybe it would be possible to open early.

The latest issue of Vacation Magic that came a few days ago stated that BCV will open in September 2002, and I believe that on the DVC members site it also states that in keeping with past policy, that when BCV opens, the BC will be removed from the Disney Collection, so plan your vacation accordingly.

I WAS WRONG!!!

Leave it to me to start a rumor. The BCV will open in September 2002 as everyone else has heard. They will start sales this winter. I guess that might be what confused me.

This is the reason that I didn't want to jump the gun and write a meeting report without first finding my notes. I apologize for starting this rumor and hope that it doesn't spread to all 60,000 member families. Woe is me.

Not that big a deal, don't be too hard on yourself. I also think people were pretty cautious in checking it out and looking for others hearing the same. We're just here to share info, and check it out between each other, so we can all stay in the loop better and extend our wonderful DVC ownership back to the home front.
