BCV - just back May 20-25

Ok , not quite "just" back, but it's the first time I've hit the DIS since we've been home.

Took my parents to DisneyWorld, their first trip there (my mom's first on-site, her last time there was 91, my dad's first trip EVER).... Along for the trip was also my in-laws and their best friends, celebrating my father-in-law's 50th birthday, staying at Yacht Club.

First things first - room wasn't ready until 4pm. Not that I minded terribly - we had wonderful Cm's and Bell services was SUPER fast bringing our bags to our room and also assisted with a transfer from the YC to BCV. NO complaints whatsoever - we had a dedicated 2 BR - room 552. Corner unit on 5th floor, with my Epcot view ... AWESOME!

I was a little bummed we couldn't make it for member homecoming (it started the day we left), but overall it was a good trip. Trash & Tidy happened 2 days in a row, that was the only "weird" thing that happened to us.... although -- on a bad note, we ran into a family that had said that $100 was stolen from their room while they were in the pool.... .and they had met up with another family on the same wing that also had money stolen from their rooms. They had narrowed it down to a span of 2 hours they were both gone and they were having their room locks scanned to find out who had access. I never found out what happened to these folks, but I know they had Disney security casing the joint.

Anyway - the highlight of our trip was an IllumiNations cruise that I had booked back in February, for my FIL's 50th Bday gift. LOVED IT!! We also managed to get a great view of Wishes on our first night there , right in front of the castle.

Nothing made me happier than to be able to take my parents to DisneyWorld and have them stay with us in our DVC unit. The timing of all the "magic" couldn't have been better on this trip, it was like someone KNEW it was their first time there. What a great trip, and all made possible by DVC. Lord knows I wouldn't have been able to afford a 2BR unit otherwise.

Just wanted to share. I'm still smiling about this trip.

Interesting. I think there was another thread recently about money getting stolen from rooms at BCV.

Katerbell, We were the family who had the money stolen, actually $180. Disney caught the person, a housekeeping cm, and gave our DD's friend her money back. The people in the room next door also got their money back. We didn't get to see much of our DVC friends after Monday night as Disney moved us to the YC because the girls panicked and were scared to stay in their room as our room wasn't near by.

All in all, we had a good time and look forward to going back to the BCV in December, especially knowing Disney caught the thief and chances of this happening again are very slim.

My wife and I also stayed in room 552 and I do agree that the view from that room is incredible. I have seen other peoples pics of their Epcot view from the BCV and I think room 552 view beats them all. My next trip I am going to see if that room is available. It was awesome going out on the balcony at night and just looking at SSE.

That's the beauty of DVC.

Most electronic locks store the serial numbers of the keys used to enter the room... so it is a lot easier to find a theif than it used to be.

Glad you had a great trip. We were in room 551, right across the hall. Our view was of WS, and a great view of Illuminations at night. We took my parents with us (although they have been there before). It was great to have them with us. They had such a good time and were so impressed with the rooms. They can't wait till our extended family of 13 goes back November of 2005.

Sounds like you had a phenomenal trip! We were at BCV from 23 - 28 and are definitely still on a high from this trip. It was the best trip we've ever had!

I must say, the highlight of our trip was also the Illuminations cruise we had on our first night there, Sunday, May 23rd. What an amazing way to see Illuminations!

Hey , that was the night of our cruise!!! We were the nuts with the happy birthday banner and the balloons!

We probably tied up right n ext to you guys and handed you guys the Birthday blower thingies...am I right?

OH i am so glad to hear that. Your girls were so upset when we ran into you. I'm glad Disney made the situation better for you and she was able to get her money back.

We were thinking about you guys that night and wondering what happened of the situation.

Thank god for the DIS!! I'd have wondered forever.
