BCV, First week of June 2013...

In the past we have always traveled the last week of July. This year for a number of reasons, we are looking to travel the first week of June.

I have never had a problem getting a 2 bedroom at roughly 7 months (SSR is home resort) for late July. However, went to see about availability today for first week of June and only had a few days of our trip. Looking for 4 nights starting on June 2nd.

Is there something going on this week.... or is it normally this busy? i was under the impression that July was busier than June...

Also, has anyone had any experiences with wait listing for this time of year?

You might have had luck at exactly 7 months on Nov. 2.
You missed it by 3 weeks.
BCV are probably the first to get booked up in June.
It looks like almost every other resort is still available.
How about BWV ?

BCV, when it is open at 7 months out, often fills very quickly once the 7 month window opens. The only event going on early June is the annual Gay Days which is from May 28 to June 3, 2013 and which does add to crowd size but it will still be significantly less crowded than July.

I think that since many schools will be out by the end of May, and the weather is nicer than in July, this is just a normally popular season for DVC reservations. The Gay Day festivities will add some demand, but still it is mostly more traditional after school travelers. And adding to that is that it takes fewer points in early June than it does in July.

I was able to book BCV 2BR 2Q for the last week of May next year. I also considered the first week of June and when I checked at exactly 7 months 2BRs were available though not the 2Q option. You missed the window of availability.

I booked five nights at exactly 7 months for the first week of June at BCV. The first week of June is:
usualy still school year here in Fla
points are less that the rest of June/July
the crowds are less than July.

Normally, I hit the 7 month window spot on. THis time, I had to wait for confirmation of a graduation date (8th grader) and when summer school will start for my high schooler. Kids like to get ahead by taking a class most summers and I was waiting for the office to give me official starting date of summer school. We are trying to fit it in between those two days and I needed confirmation of the dates before I could book.

We love BCV mainly because of SAB.... who doesnt right? We normally do parks for the first half of the day and hang at the resort for the second half, thus the love for SAB.

For what it is worth, we booked BCV for June 2012 at the 7 month mark. We arrived the first Saturday in June, which I think was June 2 or 3 this year. We usually do our Disney vacation the first week of June. So we are usually a week or so earlier than others. (I figured this out when we went to Legoland the first Monday in June this year... we literally had the park to ourselves. It was CRAZY! Of course, it was a good thing, but it definitely brought home the point that we are lucky we can travel that first week in June.). As for BCV, we didn't have any problem booking at 7 months. But we booked the minute we could, so I can't say how fast the reservations went. Whether I'm now tuning in more or there is a bigger issue, I'm hearing more people complain about booking DVC the first week of June than I have before. Good luck. Hope you get the reservation you want. I'm hoping for BCV again in 2014! It is a great place to stay.

Maybe it was just the 2BRs? I hear they book faster than 1BR.

We will be at BCV the exact same days. June 3rd to June 10. I booked a 1 BR last Tuesday, 11/27 and got them. I was really surprised because its about a month past the 7 month window.
