BCV Dues

Just received my Annual Condo Meeting notice for BCV (just to be clear this is not the dues statement). According to the meeting notice, it appears as though BCV dues this year will be slightly above $4.48/pt when you take it out to the third decimal.

I want to say this is about an 0.21 increase over last year. A fairly substantial increase in my mind. Is this due to picking up some of the damage costs from the '04 hurricane season? I thought that would have been covered in this year's dues.

Less than 5% is not substantial in my mind. We're paying $53 more than last
year on a 250 point contract. Yes, a little higher than inflation, but reasonable.

We were actually the lucky ones in this round...OKW went up almost 10%!!!

I do think that costs should hover right around the inflation rate, unless major improvements are made to the facility. Unfortunately, with BCV probably having the highest occupancy rate of any DVC property, there will always be some "improvements" needed, as wear and tear on this site has got to be HUGE...(I think anyone caught "carving" into the furniture should be charged a MASSIVE amount. The same is true for anyone caught smoking in a non-smoking room).

I actually expect that dues will have more an increase next year....in the DVC world, we really got a bargain this year.

Agreed. Just think of $53 over 2 weeks of WDW vacations. Its a drop in the bucket, airfare alone lately has often been $500 more per trip on a family.
