I posted a while ago that a friend of mine was told by MS that they were correcting the 2nd bedroom layout to the two queen beds in October. Well, family just returned from WDW, and toured the BCV and were told that DVC had no intentions of changing the room layout!!! This was told to them by the DVC representative at the model.

Anyone have any other information?

Well don't if this info is still accurate, but when I stayed there in mid August I had the chance to speak the manager of the BCV and he specifically confirmed what MS told you. He also said it was taking place sometime late September early October. I guess we'll have to wait and see...you know Disney always changing their mind.

Bumping this up...........

Anyone know who we could call??????????

The women I spoke with regarding this a few months ago was Jackie Leuders at Member Satisfaction.

I put a call into Jackie, I will let everyone know when I hear back from her!

I stopped in at the BCV model this morning and was told that the dedicated 2BR villas were indeed being outfitted with the 2 Queen beds they were supposed to have.

She stated that a "mistake" had been made with the furnishings and it was being corrected soon.

Stay Tuned!

Thanks Doc. This is starting to make me nuts!! But it's important to me for future reservations.

Wouldn't it be nice to have the name of the person providing the inacurate information so that our customer service rep could inform them of thier error?

The misinformation fairy is at it again! I know Disney is a big organization but shouldn't they be able to get their employees on the same page about something as simple as yes we are correcting the rooms. But then how did such a big mistake get by the PTB to begin with ??

Maybe several of us need to stop by the models and ask, and if the person provides the wrong information, get thier names, let them know they are misinforming folks, and report their error. When word gets around the DVC sales persons group of this tactic, I'll bet we'll see an improvement in the consistency of information.

Maybe not. Just an idea. Maybe not even that, venting.....

Well I plan on poking around a bit while down there in a couple of weeks.... I willl report back what they say...... BUT instead of reporting them to their boss's, if they tell me that No, they are not changing the rooms, I will ask them if they are sure, and do they want to put some money on it..... :teeth: Then I will have them double check lol

The DVC rep that my family spoke to even went as far as to say this was an Internet rumor! I wish I had her name, but alas I don't.

Jackie, Manager of Membership Satisfaction and I played phone tag for a bit, but I eventually did talk to her and she told me that as far as she knew they were still replacing the sofas with queen size beds in the 2nd bedroom of the 78 dedicated 2 bedroom villas at BCV. She was going to take it one step further though and confirm if for me and give me a call back. This was at about 4:30 today so I assume I will here back from her tommorrow.

Gee... I just know I will be checking every 15 minutes for an update from her............. :teeth:

Lets hope it is good news!

Okay, well I just heard from Jackie, the news is not as good as I had hoped, but not completely horrible. Of the 78 dedicated 2 bedrooms, they are replacing 25 of the Full sleeper sofas with Queen size beds and the other 53 with Queen Size sleeper sofas. She sent me a follow up E-mail after I spoke with her which I will paste below. I did ask if there will be a way to reserve (not just request) a 2 bedroom with 2 queen beds and she told me that yes, they are working on that.

Here is the E-mail:

Bedding in the Disney's Beach Club Villas dedicated two-bedroom villas is being replaced to reflect the original plan for the property. Only the 78 dedicated two-bedroom vacation homes at the resort are affected, specifically the bedding in the second bedroom of these vacation homes. In 25 of the rooms, the full-size sofa bed will be changed to a queen-size regular bed. In the other 53 rooms, the full-size sofa bed will be changed to a queen-size sofa bed. Therefore, the second bedroom of each dedicated two-bedroom vacation home will have a queen-size bed, either another regular queen bed or a queen sofa bed. We are unable to change all rooms to regular queen-size beds due to Fair Housing regulations. As these two-bedroom vacation homes have slightly different configurations, not all could accommodate a regular bed.

Furniture and related fixtures have been ordered and will be delivered in a few months, as they are custom items. The timetable of the bedding changeover is being developed so as to minimize the impact on room availability. We expect the change to be complete by early 2003.

Terry--

Thanks for posting your conversations, both phone and e-mail with Jackie. I guess if they have to follow Fair Housing laws, none of us DVC members can really quibble about that. I am glad to hear that some of the 2BR inventory will have the 2 queen beds. And I do think that having a Queen sofa sleeper will be a big improvements on a Full size sofa sleeper.
