BCV Dedicated 2 BR bedding announcement

I found this on the DVC Member website today.... I guess this adds to all the controversary....

Bedding in the Disney's Beach Club Villas dedicated two-bedroom villas is being replaced to reflect the original plan for the property. Only the 78 dedicated two-bedroom vacation homes at the resort are affected, specifically the bedding in the second bedroom of these vacation homes. In 25 of the rooms, the full-size sofa bed will be changed to a queen-size regular bed. In the other 53 rooms, the full-size sofa bed will be changed to a queen-size sofa bed. Therefore, the second bedroom of each dedicated two-bedroom vacation home will have a queen-size bed, either another regular queen bed or a queen sofa bed. We are unable to change all rooms to regular queen-size beds due to Fair Housing regulations. As these two-bedroom vacation homes have slightly different configurations, not all could accommodate a regular bed.

Thanks Jel0!!!! We appreciate hearing this news. Although from the one who always gets stuck in the sofa bed. Dag it! The Regular beds are soooo much more comfortable.

Just out of curiosity....What are the fair housing regulations? Does this mean the rooms at BCV aren't large enough to accomodate two queen-sized beds in all the dedicated 2-BR units?

Fair housingreg have to do with the amount of space between furniture in the rooms, I think. If a full size bed was left in place there would not be adequate space . With a sofa bed the "permanent footprint" of the sofa allows enogh room.

Another lie and/or ripping off of the purchasers of DVC. I remember that they were going to have the 2 beds in the dedicated 2 BR. This is a complete lie. I am going down to BCV in late October. I think I am going to speak with management about their fradulent sales practices. Of course this is all my opinion.

I think it gets worse everyday. Before you know it you will only be able to stay at the resort you purchased points at.

Of course this is my opinion, no factual information, just speculation.

Is anybody else frustrated with Disney lately?

I just called ms after reading this post...the cm informed me that two days ago thay got a memo that all the rooms had been switched over to 2 Q beds and there were no more couch beds...who knows!

chicago641..... You might want to call and talk to Jackie Leuders, she is the Manager of Membership Satisfaction.
